Quick question about halo setting

the change - if melee is of the same quality - will make absolutely no visible difference whatsoever, IMO. BUT mind-clean is a powerful thing, and I think it would be more mind-clean for you if you choose f/g melee.

Hahaha, very good point. So it will look the same, but I will feel better about it...got it. Would you agree that it wouldn't make sense to change them if the ring wasn't being redone, but since it is I might as well just do it for piece of mind?

Thanks for your patience everyone. Imagine how my jeweler feels having to deal with me. :)

Infantrytroop, take a look at the photo I posted. E center, G halo, if you can see any discernible difference then you are bionic. I have 20/12 vision and color sensitive and I can not tell the difference, there is just too much metal that reflects. Also remember G will face up white. I think you are getting too stressed about it.

It's hard to tell from a picture. You cannot see a difference under any light? Having a stone that is whiter than the halo stones (like yours) seems better than having one that is more yellow, as in my case.

No you really can't tell the difference because they are small. If you had 2 or 2.5 pointers in your ring then I would say that yes you MIGHT be able to tell in certain situations. I would say that if you had the time, send the stone to GIA or AGS for grading, then you could make a choice that you might feel better about.

I had it looked at by a very experienced appraiser and he said it is a true F. So I will have them use F stones for the melee for piece of mind. I will think the center stone looks yellow if they use D/E.

They are 2-2.5 pointers.

I had them use F/G diamonds for the melee halo when they remade the ring and it turned out great. Here is a pic of the ring (not the greatest pic).
