I bought this lovely tourmaline from a fabulous PS’er and I am setting it in a Jessica McCormack style pendant.



Question is which way up?

Can you show how it’s intended to be on the chain, what type of chain, and at set at what point on the chest?

It’s going to be on a 22” ball chain but initially without the Albert clip - it will be via a loop. I don’t know if I will add the Albert clip yet

The tourmaline is a good size - is it possible to have two hidden bales at the back so you can wear it both ways up?

Although I was erring on the orientation you show on the right but now I’ve seen the left - argh!

The tourmaline is a good size - is it possible to have two hidden bales at the back so you can wear it both ways up?

I can ask if possible - great idea!

For me, it's B, no question. I love the narrower end nearest the bail. But honestly, can you go wrong? I don't think so... this is gorgeous!

I like the narrower point pointing down, like an arrowhead. I think you are going to get a lot of different opinions and none will be wrong!

I chose A bc it seemed to me the faceting looked better in that orientation but maybe that just these pictures? Do you see any difference in person?

I don’t have the stone with me so difficult to say which orientation works best for the faceting but I can ask the jeweller.
