Questions about a Step Cut Ring from 1989

I was searching for a band and stumbled upon a step cut channel set ring. I'm tempted because I've always wanted a starter step cut ring and the diamonds look nicely cut (they just glow on the screen). If I go for it, then I will sell my starter rose cut diamond ring.
Can you tell from the photos if it's an asscher, carre, etc cut? I can't ask because the seller themselves thinks it's princess cut diamonds.
There are 9 diamonds that are probably around 0.15-0.25 ct each (I think). I wouldn't be overpaying in the $200-$300 range?
Thanks!

I thought it was either carre (spell check wrote carrel) or asscher but I can't tell due to the channel setting. So tempting... Thank you!

Looks like carré cut to me.
Here is my mum's ring with carré cut stones repurposed into a bracelet that I wear regularly.

Definitely NOT princess cut! I’m with those above: Carre’ cut.
Preloved, $200-$300 range? Sounds like a reasonable price, depending on the quality of the stones.
Does this piece come with any papers...of ANY kind?
IF you jump on this, make sure to take it to a jeweler, ASAP to have it inspected, cleaned & polished. If there are no papers to accompany this piece, a reputable jeweler can give you educated guesses.
Definitely Carre’ cut...no doubt.

Carre cuts, I have never come across them at a reasonable price and $200/$300 seems reasonable to me. I echo Matthews and would get it checked out when you get it to be safe.

Thanks! They look nicely cut even in the terrible photos lol. I was planning on going to the jeweler's this week so if I get it I'll have him check it. I will sell my rose cut diamond ring if I get this ring. I can't hoard it all!

Assher or carre (I can't do the little flying thing over the e on this computer, lol) - they still look like a decent buy at the price!

Hope the OP bought this ring and we get to see it all cleaned up! Pretty ring!

I ended up not getting it and someone else bought it and now it's on Ebay for double the price.

I just recently saw this ring on eBay again! And I think it's around 250 if I remember right!

Yeah apparently nobody wanted it for $450 so they put it on auction for $250.

Care to share a link @Nikki1415 or @Roselina ? I am terrible at EBay and I am intrigued by this band. Reminds me of my original YG band from 1988! Brings me back :)

Please don't tell me 1989 is vintage :) Graduated HS 1989. :p I feel vintage is pre 1940. Am I wrong?

Vintage is usually considered 20 years or more @dasheekee
