Question on setting and affect on sparkle

I was looking at some of the Leon Mege settings, and they do look quite nice. I've attached one picture for reference to a question I have: wouldn't the horizontal piece on the head of the setting (the bar between the prongs halfway up the height of the diamond) block a good portion of light from entering the diamond, thus negatively affecting the sparkle/brilliance? I love the way the setting looks, but I don't know if I want to sacrifice performance for a nicer looking setting... thanks!

In a well cut diamond the majority of the light enters through the top and is reflected back at you. That's why a good cut is so important!
