I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a month or so. My budget for a diamond is 4000-4500, already have the setting and just trying to find the right diamond for my future wife. I found this one at

James Allen
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-SI2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1123719.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131

there is a large inclusion right on the edge, could I hide that with one of the prongs? That's what the gentlemen at James Allen suggested, and that it would then be eye clean. What do you guys think?

BTW - It scores a 1.2 on the HCA

When inclusions are on the edge I have heard that you can hide them under a prong [I have no experience with this]. I''d want to have a look at the stone, in any case. If you love the stone and the inclusion would not undermine the integrity of it I don''t see it as a problem.

I think it depends on the type of inclusion. My diamond also has an inclusion on the edge, and I was told it''s not always wise to cover an inclusion with a prong. Apparently the prong may put too much pressure on the area with the inclusion and possibly cause damage. I''m sure someone with more knowledge can chime in!

JA wouldn't suggest covering an inclusion with a prong if it was in any way detrimental, I am no expert, but it looks to me that it might be an excellent solution in this case, I would be guided by the pro's if they tell you this would be a good move. Welcome also!
