I have this old stopwatch. Needs to be winded to work. Heavy. Says "swiss mov't parts assembled in hong kong, but thats on the watch face itself. I need to have it the clock itself repaired, theres obvious signs of age. Gold tone. Cant find any information on it. Has anyone owned or seen something similar?
My partner says it looks like huck finn on the front. I say it just looks like a fisherman. I would remove the back to check for a serial or product info but age has made this hard to open with what i have at home. And im afraid of ruining the engraved design on the back by using to much force and slipping with a tool 15932831533954021707058513434983.jpg

Near Identical. $20.

Ah YES that clasp looks almost exactly the same but no more info is mentioned on that listing than what i have. Ugh. I may buy the watch you linked, i dont like the eagle, but the tops and backs of the piece are eye candies.
It looks as though the whole piece may be quartex? That definitely helps! Thank you so much. I even looked up quartex on ebay and couldnt find pocketwatches of similar design. But the link you shared leads me to more similar ones!

I don’t know if it will be repairable. Have you carefully opened up the back? The stain on the watch face looks like rust to me so it may be that the watch has been in water and has rusted. In that event you would need a whole replacement movement. A watchmaker would probably charge much more than the watch is worth to fix it. So unless it’s a special family heirloom I don’t think it’s worth repairing.

Oooof, even on a hand wound watch, water will do that sort of damage? Its not soecial or anything, although my my partner adores it. If i do have to repair it, could i possibly just find a used working one and switch out the movement piece?
