Anybody have both of these to show pictures next to each other - in daylight and artificial?
High expectiations I know!
But it'd be great to see.
I do Rfisher. My gemstone photography skills stink, but here they are anyway
The two stones on the left are purple garnets, the three on the right amethyst. The first photo in natural light and second photo in artificial overhead lights. The photos are pretty true to what I am seeing in person.
I think purple garnets look very different from amethyst. I personally love them!

I think some of these are color changers. They go from purple to magenta. You need to make sure you like both of those colors if you buy a purple garnet with that attribute. Your pic is very pretty. I personally would be able to tell that was not an amethyst because of the fire.
Thank you so much for sharingBeautiful stone!!!
Are you familiar with the purple garnet thread? Not sure about the origin of the various stones though: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/purple-garnets-show-and-tell.216395/

Yay! Looking forward to your pics.I do like both colours and that’s why I decided to take it. The sellers camera makes it look very different in different lighting. So I’ll share pics when I get it
Hello,Love your garnets. Where did you get them? Origin?
Hello,
The little round in the ring is from Prima Gems and the loose cushion is from GemRite. They are both from Mozambique. GemRite has quite a few purple garnets listed on their site with pictures showing the color shift as well as videos if you want to check them out here:

My cushion is the sold 2.17 ct at the top of the page. They each seem to have a slightly different shift.
I hope you love yours when you get it!
Just noticed this JD garnet - it's from Mozambique, not Mahenge, but they have wonderful purple garnets too. And for the price..
