(cough) ...and then I got to find out just how bad a couple of .25''ers I had really were. Ow. Well, at least I got plenty of practice looking at "too steep" and "too shallow" in real life...

Yep, same with some of my smaller diamonds. Funny thing is my roberto coin necklace sparkles like crazy, yet has tons of light leakage under my ideascope.

Even if I knew how to take IS pictures, which I don''t, I can''t take pictures of my crappy diamonds anymore.

Once I turned into a horrible incurable jewelry snob, I had them set in jewelry (along with other, nicer stones, I hasten to add -- I''m not going to give anyone a total dog of a piece! And they sparkled okay, it''s not like we''re talking about frozen spit here) and gave them away to friends or relatives who aren''t quite as picky and were glad to give ''em new homes.

So in the end my IS ended up making several people happy, not just (or maybe that should be "just not"?) me. Which is like a happy ending, sort of.

I do!

Sorry, but I''ve tried numerous times to take decent photos of my diamonds using my IS and they all turn out off center or blurry. I''ve never even attempted to take a photo of my RC pendant under the IS. Here is a shot I took a while back. It looks MUCH better under sunlight.

Most people try to use a macro setting - just use a standard setting - it is easy then.

I had a hearts and arrows viewer as a free gift from Whiteflash when I bought my ACA diamond. Not sure if thats the same as an Ideal Scope. I had to return it when I upgraded to an Expert Selection stone though.

where can I get one:?

Maisie, they are both different scopes!

Sizzle, you can buy it here!

The following are the shots I took with MACRO. This is with my other camera. I have a newer one now, but haven''t taken photos yet. As you can see, the photo is blurry.
