Home PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

Congrats QT!!!! So happy for you! I thought you were pregnant after seeing your last post! Sending you lots of sticky dust! So cool that you and puffy get to go through your sencond pregnancies together. Yay!

Congrats QT...that is wonderful, wonderful news...sending sticky prayers your way..

tacori- that is so great Tessa loves the water. I''m a big believer that exposing them to the water and letting them just explore is a great thing. my girls were both swimming by themselves very young, but we went to the pool a lot and they both loved the water like Tessa does.

burk-hope you had fun at the bachelorette party.

my girls are both at a b-day party and Jake is taking nap so it''s nice and quiet for the time being..

hope all the mommies are having a happy sat.

Thank Tacori, I also got discoloration from the pregnancy but mostly it''s on my chest (I don''t know why).
Mental image of Tessa doing hip hop really cracks me up, must be fun to watch her dance.
You and your DH probably skipped a couple of heartbeat when Tessa went under water.
We don''t have the baby genius music CD, are they good?
QT, OMG! I''m so happy for you!!
36.gif
I guess the dream does mean something. Sending you sticky dust.
The house is slowly coming along. Cabinet people will come next week to install the cabinets.
Hopefully once the cabinets are in it will look more like a home.

puffy, our rent lease end at the end of June so we will move into the new house by then.

lili, I guess J got the rocker moves with the head bangng and legs apart bowing.
I can just imagine J screaming in the restaurant like little B
9.gif

Hi snlee, how are youd? D must be pretty big now?

Burk, will go post some pic. of the granite we picked.

qt OMG!!!!! YAY!!! BIG congrats to you and Mr. qt!! you guys must be so happy. i am so happy for you guys!! i always heard that your milk supply takes a total plunge during pregnancy, but you should have a stash built up just in case? and i''m guessing that even when your supply does plunge, you might want to wean M by then.
CONGRATS again!!!

Q, congrats mama! M will be a big sister soon! When is your due date?

MrsS, I agree with you but do get concerned with her safety. Sometimes a little fear can be a good thing. She is CRAZY.

Bobo, DH did freak out. The lifeguard came over to see if she was okay
23.gif
Good to know she was watching. Interesting about your chest have discoloration. Well if it bothers you I will let you know if this cream works.

Q

MrsS, I agree with you but do get concerned with her safety. Sometimes a little fear can be a good thing. She is CRAZY.

my girls were like that too. they would just go to the side and jump in, even if no one was there to catch them so I had to watch them like hawks when they were tessa''s age. going the pool was not relaxing at all....

Tacori
Awwee....bummer. Remember to take it next time.
Haha, she is fearless, which is good. But it does mean that we have to keep an extra watchful eye on them.
I think J and T will be so much trouble togehter....those two will just enable each other!

Haha so cute that T is playing w/ Stella like you would w/ her.
J is not there yet w/ the kissing and tickling, but she will take her doll or stuff animal and rock them.
Hehe, she''ll actually take another for that matter and start rocking it whenever I sing "rock a bye baby".
The other day when I started singing, she started reaching for something and the nearest item was a ziplock bag.
So she rocked that
20.gif

Hope T feels better tomorrow.
Teething really bites huh?

Burk
Yay, you got an awesome deal on that swimsuit -- 40% off what I paid for!
T will be so cute in it, you''ll have to post picture of her in it.
Yeah, this stage is hard, but it is so fun.
J still does not say or wave hi/bye to people, but she does give them a smile.
Oh, she''ll wave bye to them when they are out of sight
20.gif

I love the talking and mimicking too -- so cute.
I find myself cracking up in the car when i''m in the backseat w/ her.
Everyday, she does something funny.
Yesterday morning, she was all hyper and I told her to "calm down" and I did the gesture w/ both hands at eye level and slowly lower them down.
Later that night, she got all wired up from playing some game, so I told her to calm down. Next thing I know, she was doing the hand gesture a couple of times
9.gif

puffy
Hehe, sounds like most of the kiddies here are one in the same.
Yep, J will sit still for awhile and then it''s like there''s ant in her pants.
She got to get out of the seat and walk around.
She''s doing well -- almost done w/ the cold.
Don''t know if she''s teething though since she''s been drooling and putting her index in the corner of her mouth.
But then again, she''s been doing that on and off for the last couple of months.
How is B enjoying the warm weather?
How are about yourself? Still m/s free?
Hey, it''s been a while since we''ve seen B....how''s about some pictures?

Bobo
Actually, J doesn''t scream as much as squirm and bang on her booster chair.
She''ll yank the tray off too.
38.gif

How exciting that you''ll be moving in so soon.
Hope the renovation is smooth and headache free.
Working w/ contractors can be such a PITA you know.
Love the great room in your house....plenty of space for B to run around
5.gif

tacori the baby genius stuff isn''t bad, it really isn''t. i think it''s just that B is spoiled with all the other stuff that he has so those would actually be a last resort for me. but i am sure that T would enjoy dancing and singing to them.

bobo you guys are going to be in your new house before you know it!!

lili glad that J''s cold is passing. B is like that too when i sing rock a bye baby, except he will tell me to hold on until he can find something appropriate to rock. so funny! haha. and it totally doesn''t help with the sitting still thing now that he has figured out how to undo the safety latch in the booster seat. he will even snap it together when i first put him in it, then when i see both of his hands go under the tray, i know what he''s up to. B is loving the weather esp since i can just let him hang out outside most of the day and when he wants to come back in, he''ll knock on the sliding door or scream for me. i''m still feeling pretty good, just nauseous as usual, but it''s not that bad.

lili
Thanks. I am hoping the dream means that we''ll have one girl (which we got already) and one boy (maybe this baby). hehe. I don''t think I can handle twins.

snlee
I knew you figured it out b/c you asked if I had news. You know me too well. hehe.
It is so cool that I get to go through the pregnancy with puffy. Hopefully a few more toddler mommies will join us soon.

MrsS
Thanks.
Glad you get some rest today.

Bobo
Thanks.
You''ll be in your new house in no time.

puffy
Yeah I am worried about nursing while pregnancy. I was reading kellymom, and it says that supply will decrease as the progestrone level increases during pregnancy. Usually it''s not too bad during the first trimester. I plan to start weaning M at 1 year, so it''s just a little over 2 months. Hoping weaning wouldn''t be too hard.

Tacori
Thanks. The EDD that I got from babycenter is 1/27/09, which is a few days after mines.

Sorry this and last posts are self-centered. Will catch up after parents leave Monday.

QT: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! im so excited for you!! sending tons of sticky dust ur way!!!

Congratulations QT! Such great news!

Congratulations QT!!!! So happy for you!

Tacori~My T does the same thing with her dolls. Isn''t it so cute? T hugs, kisses, rocks, tickles, pats their backs, feeds them, you name it. She is obsessed with her dolls- such a little mother already. She also helps out at daycare with all the new babies (they just moved 3 up to the next room and got 3 new infants in). T LOVES the new babies.

puffy~You know, my body is quite a mess. I thought DH and I could actually TTC this cycle but Fertility Friend changed my O date and DH was golfing. So I''m assuming this cycle is now going to be a shorter one. No way to tell when I''m going to O with crazy unpredictable cycles unless I start to do OPKs and I really don''t want to do that...just seems like a lot of pressure. Boo. T is still doing one breathing treatment at day. She''s doing great with them-even gets the mask for her face her self and hands it to me.

QT~CONGRATS!!!
36.gif
So happy for you!

mrss~Hope you''re having a great weekend.

Bobo~I''m heading over to the house thread to check out your picks. Do you feel relieved to have those selections made?

lili~I love a good deal!
2.gif
She wore the swimsuit to the pool yesterday and got lots of compliments. So cute about J doing the calm down gestures. I just love all the new things they pick up. T''s latest thing is singing and doing the gestures to "if you''re happy and you know it" So cute.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. DH and I are going golfing and out to dinner tomorrow night for date night. I haven''t picked up my clubs in ages so it could be interesting.

Congrats QT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mommies, posted a Q in my house thread that I need any and all opinions on....I''m stressing about our plan and need to make a final decision by Tuesday.
23.gif

Tacori, I will freak out too if I were your DH. The discoloration is fading, not completely but at least 80% gone so I guess I''ll live with it. But I do want to get rid of saggy muffin top and the "girls"

lili, working with the contractors are a PITA! I love how open the room is, I guess that is why I decide to go with it.

puffy, I''m dreading moving, I hate packing.

Burk, I am relieved. They are my choices from the beginning, DH is the one that keep changing his mind.

bobo ugh...i know!!! packing is definitely a PITA but it''ll be worth it in the end to be in your new home!! i''m sure you''ll be fine. for me, it''s just the initial getting off my butt and start packing that''s te toughest, then i''m totally "in the zone." haha. how is little B?

burk have a great date night tomorrow!!! golfing sounds fun...i''m not so good at it, ok i lied, i totally suck at it! haha. that''s cute that T gets the mask for her face ready for you. do you know when she can be totally off the breathing treatment? with your cycles being a mess, i hope the TTC will happen for you guys without the pressure of TTC, KWIM? we have friends who are married with a 3 year old girl, and everyone asks them every time they see them when they will try for #2. i never ask just because you never know their situation, maybe they''re trying already or maybe they''re done. but i just feel like even if you are trying and people keep harassing you about it, it totally doesn''t help. and that couple actually have been trying for the past year and a half with no luck, so with everyone asking them really isn''t helping anything at all other than more added stress. i guess what i''m saying is, just relax and don''t stress about it..enjoy the ride.

qt that is so fun that we are going to go through this journey together!! i''m sure your supply will be fine for another 2 months and hopefully M will be ready to be weaned. that would be really neat to have the baby so close to your birthday. i really wanted a baby close to my birthday, in april. B''s birthday is close to DH''s birthday. Congrats again!!! is mr. qt super excited also? i''m sure you guys are over the moon.

have a great memorial day everyone!!!

Puffy
Haha, that is pretty funny.
I can just picture B putting his hand up and say "wait wait" and go searching for an appropriate toy to be rocked.
That''s great you are not hit by the m/s bus.
Did you feel the same with Brady?

QT
Hehe, I think so too. This may be a boy for you.
How fun and exciting that you and puffy are going through this journey togehter.
It would be neat if you guys have a GTG in your preggo state.
Nothing cuter than 2 cute preggos in the same picture.
Oh, unless you put the two cutie pies in the picture too :P

Burk
I think T will get compliments no matter what she wears!
Hehe, J does some of the motions for the "if you are happy and you know it" too.
She loves loves the "hokey pokey" song though. Gets into a giggle fest when we do the head part.
Haha, so cute about T mothering her dolls. I was going to say that J is not there yet, but last night she just did it.
She was so happy to see her toys and dolls when we return from our trip, that she hugged them and gave them kisses
30.gif

She''ll rock, pats and pet them. Still no tickle and feeding yet -- though she does feed me and her daddy (especially w/ stuff that half eaten -- covered w/ her sweet spit:P)
It is amazing the things they pick up. Like I was telling TGal, it seems to just happen overnight.
She''s talking so much more too -- I especially love it when she says cheese -- spittles and spits all over
9.gif

Haha, so cute that T knows her routine and knows to get the mask on herself.
That''s great that she''s down to one treatment. Hope she''ll be done w/ it soon.

Regarding TTC. Do you check your CM? I used to temp before for like 3 cycles, but found that my CM is pretty in sync w/ the temp spike, so I just base my window off that.
Figure it is so much easier since you go to the bathroom so many times in a day anyway.

Bobo~glad you feel relieved. I can totally relate to a DH that won''t make up his mind.
2.gif

puffy~T has a check-up with her allergist the first week in June. I will ask about getting rid of the nebulizer treatments then. I doubt he''ll let us just yet, but I''m going to ask anyway. That story about your friends is exactly what I''m afraid of. I figured it out with our school schedule and my maternity leave and March or April would be WAY better to have a baby. That way I could be home on paid "maternity leave" for around 5 months. So, I''m thinking not getting to "try" this month was really a blessing in disguise. DH only leaves town once next cycle so I''m optimistic it''ll all work out without pressure. How are you feeling?

lili~That''s so cute that J loves the "hokey pokey." I just love how words sound when they come out of T''s mouth!
30.gif
This is such a fun time with them learning so much every day. T really started talking a lot over night, too. As for TTC, I''ve checked my CM, but I must be stupid or something because I can''t notice the changes. I think I may quit temping since my cycle is such a mess and it kind of just stresses me out and we''ll just BD more often for a few months.

Today was a lot of fun. We played outside most of the morning and had a ton of fun. T just loves to be outside. MIL came over to watch T and DH and I went golfing early afternoon(I wasn''t half bad even though I haven''t touched my clubs in years) and then had dinner. It was nice to have date night since we haven''t had the opportunity to do so in a while and we made it home to put T to bed. Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

lili J sounds adorable with her "cheese!" it''s the sweetest thing in the world to hear them talk and watch them grow so much overnight. B is almost speaking in total complete sentences which is pretty shocking, by complete sentences, i mean like 7 or 8 words. he speaks in short sentences right now. the only thing that i am not enjoying about him is that he is such a picky eater now. or he just doesn''t care to eat, all he wants is his milk. i asked what he wanted for lunch today, and he said "milk, milk, and more milk." i enjoyed being preggo with B a lot more than right now cause with B, i was NEVER sick or felt nauseous, but now i am just feeling nauseous all the time. when are you and your DH TTC?

burk glad you had a great day with T and date night as well. well that sounds nice to be on paid maternity leave for 5 months, so it sounds like that might work out better for you guys. i''m feeling ok, just nauseous and hungry all the time. haha!! i swear, one minute, i''m done with dinner and the next, my stomach is growling and B is telling me, "mommy, baby is hungry." haha. he''s still hoping that a dog comes out and not a baby, but i have some time to try to get him to change his mind.

qt i saw on the preggo thread that you were talking about maternity pics. DH and i decided that we were going to do them again and we are definitely going to have B in them. i have a few ideas of what i want the picture of, but i guess we''ll see what happens. are you guys going to get them done also with M?

Burk
It is, isn't it.
Sounds like you enjoyed your golf date w/ hubby.
It is nice to have a small opportunity to be a couple again.
As for checking CM, I don't know if everyone is the same, but I noticed that around the time of O, I feel like I can use an extra change of underwear if you know what I mean.
If you read some of the early post in the TTC thread, you'll see TGal's colorful description -- as twot snot
9.gif

BD more often for a couple of months will do -- less planning and takes the stress out of the whole BDing.
Good luck and hope to hear some good news from you.

Puffy
Wow, complete sentences already? And he's not even 1.5 yet.
What happened to B eating anything in sight? I thought he was an eating machine just not too long ago.
I guess picky eating strikes almost every child huh?
Sorry you are feeling nausea. At least you are not throwing up.
Could it be because you are not able to rest w/ B around?

ETA: what? You did maternity pics when you had B?
Hey, post them woman!

puffy, can you come and pack for me

9.gif
. little B is doing good, showing me new tricks everyday. Can''t believe B is already talking in complete sentences
23.gif
What a smart boy.

Burk, DH and I got into so many argument while picking out stuff for the house, I''m just glad is going to be over soon.

Yikes, been out of town for 5 days without a computer so I''m just catching up but wanted to say:

CONGRATULATIONS, QT!!!!!!
36.gif
36.gif
So excited and sending tons of sticky vibes your way!

I''ll be back soon!!

puffy~I had the nausea/must eat constantly thing with T until close to 17 weeks. It sucked.... and I didn''t have another kid to worry about.
3.gif
A March/April baby would make it so that my maternity leave would run through the end of the year and then I have summer off so essentially I''d be paid for 4-5 months of "maternity leave" and we wouldn''t have to put the new baby in daycare until August when I go back to school so it may work out perfect.

lili~Golf date with hubby was a lot of fun. Reminded me of how we used to be pre-baby. NOt that I don''t like who we are now, it''s just fun to be a couple every once and a while. I read Tgals description and I just don''t have that. I may need to read up on it more if the extra BDing the next couple months doesn''t work out, but I''m trying not to worry about that quite yet..

Bobo~I can imagine you''re ready for it to be done. I''m sure we''ll feel like that at the end of building our house.

Hi Curly!
35.gif

Hello mommies. We just got back in town. Went to visit some friends who have a 4 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. The boy taught Tessa the word "Mine!" He took everything away she tried to play with and kept saying "Mine! It''s mine! That''s mine!" DH "caught" T in the corner practicing the word "mine"
20.gif
The 4 year old LOVED T. She kept calling her "baby Tessa." and was so sweet with her. Tessa also started saying "oh man!" which is pretty funny. She also is repeating a lot of words. When I read to hear she will repeat words or when I try to "teach" her things. Who knows if she is absorbing any of that stuff but I am not worried.

Burk, glad you and your DH had a golf date! It is cute seeing her be a little mama. Glad you are feeling better (calmer?) about the house.

Bobo, I hear ya on the muffin top and deflated boobs. Glad this discoloration is fading.

Q, so exciting!

puffy, she liked the CD. She loves dancing and singing. Sounds like most toddlers do. How are you feeling?

Lili, they would be TROUBLE! T JUST started paying attention to dolls. Before she would just ignore them. That is so cute J rocks things when you sing to her.

MrsS, it is stressful! But she has a blast so it is worth it.

Fly by at the moment to say a big congrats to QT!!!!!!

Tacori~Sounds like a fun weekend (minus learning "mine"
3.gif
) with your friends. Isn''t it fun hearing T repeat words? My T does that and she''s also been pulling words out I didn''t even realize she new. The other day in the car she kept saying something and I kept saying "I''m sorry, I just don''t know what you''re trying to say" At the stop light I looked back there and realized she was pointing at a scratch she had on her leg and she was saying "owie." I am finally starting to relax (at least a little) about the house. I''m a natural stresser/researcher/planner so it''s not a very good combination with this house stuff.
