Can I pop over with a quick nap question? There aren''t many older babies on the newborn thread anymore =(

Jackson is 10 months old, wakes around 6 (5:45-6:15 is also normal), and takes an hour and 15 minute nap at 9. He also used to take an hour and 15 minute or hour and half nap around 12:30, but about a month ago he started taking really short naps. I started keeping him up later, so now his 2nd nap is around 1:15/1:130. That worked for a few days, but now he''s back to sleeping about 30 minutes and is waking up crying and really unhappy.

Do you think I''m just mis-timing the 2nd nap and should try a bit earlier again? I''ve also tried letting him cry for a while after he wakes up (yesterday he only slept for 20 minutes so I let him cry for a half hour, and he still didn''t go back to sleep).

Any suggestions?

I love lurking over here and reading up on discipline...I''m so clueless about toddler behavior and can''t believe I''m going to have one soon!

And blen, sorry to hear that George will probably need surgery. Hi to everyone else!

Dropped Penelope off for her last day of preschool this morning. A little emotional for me. I didn''t feel this way on her first day of school, mainly because I had a 4 month old that wasn''t sleeping through the night and was looking forward to the small break. Have been reflecting this morning and she has really had to grow up in the last year. Went from being the needy center of attention 24/7 3 year old to this helpful, empathetic and thoughtful 4 (soon to be 5) year old. I know she loves her little brother dearly but I feel a pang in my heart when I know there are times she truly wishes it was just the 3 of us again. Like yesterday when she wrote me a letter that said she wished every time a person had a birthday that they could grow younger, instead of older, so that she could get smaller and smaller eventually turning into a baby so I could hold her the way I do Axel.

We have special "Penelope Days" where we leave Axel with family and DH and I take her out to do whatever she chooses (within reason). The last Penelope Day we went to Disney and it was--as cheesy as it is to say this--so magical and amazing for everyone! And every day Axel takes an afternoon nap we have 2 hours to read books, play dress up, make up, or just sit and cuddle and talk where she tells me she wishes it could last forever. I know it''s all part of life and she will get used to it, but I have such mom guilt over her feeling this way sometimes. I do so look forward to watching her transition and grow and that''s one of the best things about being a mom for me. Thanks for letting me share.

Sabine, is he teething? I would''ve done what you did and it couldn''t hurt to try and go back to the old schedule. Axel has been waking up once a night for about 4 consecutive nights and completely refused to go down for his 2nd nap yesterday. This morning, I rubbed my finger around his bottom gums and felt 2 new teeth breaking through. And there are other times--where he''s not teething--that he skips or takes short naps, but always falls back into schedule eventually. Just had to work itself out. Hope he starts napping for you soon.

lili, thanks! Yes, DD painted it when she was 2.5 years old. It''s a bunny. My fav painting to this day aside from one she did (when she was also 2.5) of DH that included correct human anatomy haha. DH has been more careful getting out of the shower since then!

double post

Thanks for the positive wishes!

G''s latest thing is howling. He kept tilting his head all the way back and pursing his lips and going "oooo oooo oooooooo" earlier tonight. Our dogs don''t howl... We don''t know where he got this. We''ve decided he''s part warewolf, as that is clearly the most rational explanation.
41.gif

Q - I do like that he was more upfront. Back when we were first patching, we had a surprising number of people come up to us and ask if we were patching for surgery or for strabismus, and then say that they had had surgeries when they were young to correct strabismus issues. So I think on some level I knew that they sometimes used surgery for it, but the old guy just never mentioned it and if there''s that high of a possibility of it happening, I want to be prepared emotionally when we get to having that talk!
And thanks for the pronunciation explanation. I just wanted to make sure I was saying his name right in my head.
1.gif

PJ - aww, what a sweet thing to say about wanting to be held like that. (Where do kids get these ideas, by the way?) The Penelope days are a great idea.

Sabine - no real nap advice, but isn''t it crazy how fast they grow up? I can''t believe that I have a little boy already.

Sabine At 10 months old Hunter was taking 2 naps. He woke at 6am and then had his first nap at around 9:30 until about 10:30 or 11. Then he would have his second nap around 2pm or even 2:30. So it sounds to me like Jackson can go longer before nap 2. In my experience, we would sometimes think Hunter was sleepy at that time when what he needed was a snack. I would aim to give Jackson lunch around 12 and then it should give him enough energy to make it until 2:30 or so for nap 2. At 10 months, Hunter was having breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and also milk in the am and before each nap and before bed. So basically something to eat/drink about every 2 hours.

Dreamer, thanks, I'll have to try later. Earlier certainly didn't work yesterday, and today he only took a 20 minute nap in the morning, so although he's down already now (at 1), I think if he takes a good morning nap he will be able to stay up later. Hey, maybe this will finally allow us to keep him up a *little* longer in the evening, as the past few days he's been asleep by 6!

Penelope, thanks, he is getting his 4th tooth currently, but teething hasn't really affected his sleep much previously, and giving tylenol a bit before the nap doesn't seem to help at all, but maybe he'll get better once this tooth is out.

just dropping in to say hi. it''s been crazy busy around our house with school out, camps starting etc. my boss was also out of town last week and I ended up having to work a lot more. busy week ahead this week as well. Not much going on with us though. I''m working with Jake everyday to get him swimming solo. He''s really close but I''d say he''s still a few weeks away.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and look forwards to updates from all of you when you can!!

QT~Thanks. I''m so looking forward to summer! Glad J snapped out of his nursing strike!

lili~The house that we''re currently working on is the one we''re living in (that we moved into a few weeks ago). We decided to focus our attention on getting it ready first so we haven''t even broke ground on the other house. We''re crazy but we have a ton of projects going on around this house. I will actually like you more if you don''t believe my baby weight is in my belly!
41.gif
All I have to say is thank goodness for tankinis! T is not doing so well....big asthma flare up and an ear infection. So weird for this time of year. I''m taking her back to the pedi tomorrow because her cough is horrible and she''s barely sleeping!
39.gif

Sabine~Sorry Jackson isn''t napping well. Any improvement with moving the second nap back?

Penelope~Awww....your post made me tear up. I feel the same mommy guilt. What''s worse is that when I had K she because a major daddy''s girl and I sometimes feel like she''s trying to punish me.
39.gif
I know I''m doing the best I can but some days I just feel so badly that I can''t be in two places at once.

mrss~
35.gif
I could not believe how long Jake''s hair is when I saw that pic on FB!!! Our babies are getting so old!

Hey everyone else. Tomorrow is the official start of summer break. I''m so excited. We''re heading to the pool and T is so excited. She LOVES swimming. I need to get her in lessons with someone who actually knows what they''re doing (don''t think DH and I are qualified
3.gif
)

hi all,

quick drive by. Things are ok...house project moving along (burk - it''s actually kitchen, family room, extra bedroom, new roof, siding etc...so almost like a new house so it will be awhile). FIL is not doing so well though so we''ve been consummed with that. It does raise questions of how much I should involve C..but cross that bridge when I come to it. She is still so young.

C is doing great...everythings is "what''s DAT" and then she repeats what we say. She wants to do EVERYthing herself and is drawn to the things she should not do or touch (of course!!). I love the mimicking, it''s hilarious. I''ll say "oh god.." and she repeats..and I''m like ooops. Good thing I don''t curse much. My sister was saying "what???"with an overexaggerated tempo and C mimicked and I was like "see, thats how you sound!!" C just loves dogs right now and playing outside with her ball and coloring (she''s in a circle and dot phase).

I''m still struggling with getting her off the bottle 100% though, eek. She''ll drink out of a cup, but also spillls a fair amount (not sure how if they''re spill proof!). I think it''s because she bites on the spout / plays too much with it. She also is becoming a fussy eater...annoying! I may have to pick up those hot dogs from Trader Joe''s soon!

hi gang

just a me-centric post to say hi
my computer is on the fritz and keeps doing weird things . it''s a mac that has served me well for 7 years with not a single problem, but it has been abused!. i think it''s time to get a new one!!

i am trying to tie up as many loose ends as possible before this kid arrives. I am due this week and feeling that anxious anticipation. I had a few contractions that woke me up last night but i am fine this morn. hmmph.
My biggest worry right now is trying to est. a routine with Co and the new baby. Anyone have advice on that? He is such a routine kid that i feel like i am setting myself up for problems if i don''t structure my day. But how do i do that with a newborn??

Co is doing great. He''s really transformed in the past 2 weeks and is prepped as much as he can be for the baby (he sees things popping up in the house like the car seat, bassi, bouncy chairs etc.) and he loved a recent episode of YGG about babies. I hope the positive outlook remains when the baby is actually here!
He''s talking in full sentences almost all the time now ,but i still need to interpret for him from time to time . I do need to work on his screams. It''s his choice way of showing frustration. I explained what a time out is and we haven''t used it yet, but next time he shrieks at me, i''ll give it a go. Ignoring isn''t working.

be back later to catch up

Sabine
No advice, but hope you figure out something that works.
PJ
Sorry that you are feeling mommy guilt. I felt incredibly guilty when Jaron was born, and I could just play with Meena. For our case, it was harder on me than M since she was 18 months and not as aware as a 3 yrs old. The “Penelope days” are great.
Blen
I am with you on knowing the possibility and being prepared. How is patching going?

MrsS
You sound busy. Hope the girls have a great summer.
Jake looks so mature now.
Burk
I need a tankini. My body is not bikini ready, and I don’t know if it’ll ever be.
Hope T’s allergy gets better. Poor thing.
Janine
So cute that C says everything you say. M doesn’t mimick us, but picks up a lot from our 5 yrs old nephew. She keeps saying “com’on” when she wants someone to follow her or play or do something with her because our nephew says that to her all the time.
Sorry C is being picky with food. Have you try a cup without a sprout?
Jas12
You’ll be just fine with Co and the new baby.
I am not surprised that Co is talking in full sentences almost all the time. He was always so advanced with his verbal skill.
Hope baby #2 doesn’t make you wait.
Sorry if I missed anyone since I only responded to this page.

We took M and J to the graduation party for my coworker’s son. We didn’t know she has a pool, so we didn’t bring a bathing suit or a change of clothes for M. M wanted to go in, so we let her sit on the edge with her feet in the pool. She was kicking the water and having a blast. She managed to get herself all wet. So now I can’t wait for the swimming lessons this summer. I hope she really enjoys it this year.
And J rolled over back to belly yesterday. Time flies.

Penelope--
Awww....your Penelope story about wishing to grow younger so you would cuddle w/ her like you are w/ Axel is so sweet and sad
7.gif

It is always tough on the first born when there is a sibling.
She sounds like a smart girl ^.^
How great that you have "Penelope" day and quiet hours w/ her.
That''s about how much quality time we have w/ our one now.
I can definitely see the bunny in that picture -- she''s got talent.
Hehe....too funny about the portrait of your hubby :D

MrsS--
Can''t believe it''s going to be summer again.
Now that you are not a full-time SAHM, what are your plans for the girls? Summer camps?
And
36.gif
36.gif
Jake on swimming solo soon.

Burk--
Yikes....poor Tayva.
I thought that the asthma and ear infections were behind her.
Is she going to be back on the nebulizer again?
23.gif
I did not know that you are working on the house that you are living.
How ever do you survive w/ all that raucous and an energetic newborn and toddler?
Yay for summer break
36.gif
but it''s probably more relaxing at work then at home huh? :P

Janine--
LOL....don''t you just love the mimicking stage?
So fun.

Jas12-
Wow...didn''t realized that this week is your EDD.
I hope this little one doesn''t keep you waiting too long.
That''s great Co is so receptive of a baby.
I''m sure he''ll be super w/ the newborn -- just like Puffy''s B.
Like QT, I''m not surprised that he is conversing like an adult now since he''s always been crazy advanced with his verbal skills.
Labor dust to you!

QT--
I''ve seen your recent pictures....and there''s not much in your belly area.
You can easily sport a bikini.
36.gif
36.gif
for J rolling over.

janine~Sorry about your FIL! That is a big project-sounds fun!
21.gif
Good luck with the bottle weaning. Have you tried a different brand of sippy cup?

jas12~YAY for due date this week!! Lots of labor dust!!

QT~No bikini for this girl, either. My DH and all our friends think I should wear one because they say I "look good for just having had a baby." Well, I don''t want to look good for just having a baby...I want to look good. Period. And, I don''t!
16.gif
Yay for J!!! K has his 4 month appt tomorrow...where did the time go?

lili~Yea, she was doing soooo much better and hadn''t had asthma problems forever. We''re back on the nebulizer and her allergist put her on a steroid too.
7.gif
Things are interesting around our house with the ten thousand projects and two crazy kids...especially lately since T''s been sick and not herself. DH started painting the walls in the basement (it was unfinished when we moved in)tonight so it''s really exciting to see that come together and T''s so excited to have a new playroom down there. And yes, way more relaxing to be at work!
41.gif

Took the kids to the pool today. T has been an absolute terror lately (lack of sleep from coughing constantly is doing a number on the poor girl) so she had one little break down while we were there but other than that it was a lot of fun. I am headed out for a run now then off to bed. K decided it would be fun to stay awake after his 6:45 am feed this morning...so I''m tired!

hi my fav mamas!! i have been so tired lately and no time for PS. still packing and hanging out with the kiddos but it''s just been extra tiring lately, don''t know why.

i did have a *little* scare last week. i swear i thought i was preggo and ALMOST had a heart attack. but AF did show up a few days late. i refused to take a test because i was freaking out. haha. keeping up with the kids is getting to be really hard now esp with N practically crawling. he''s army crawling and he''s been rocking on all fours a lot...he''s pretty close to crawling. but thank goodness i have my little helper to keep N out of trouble and entertained. what would i do without my B?!?

anyways, kids are doing well. packing is not going as planned, but what really goes as planned with kids, right?!? the move has been delayed yet again, they shipped out the wrong furniture to us...all in all, it was a really awful week last week.

i will get caught up one of these days. hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Dreamer, thanks, I''ll have to try later. Earlier certainly didn''t work yesterday, and today he only took a 20 minute nap in the morning, so although he''s down already now (at 1), I think if he takes a good morning nap he will be able to stay up later. Hey, maybe this will finally allow us to keep him up a *little* longer in the evening, as the past few days he''s been asleep by 6!
Hunter still goes to bed around 6:30pm and wakes somewhere between 6am and 7am, usually towards the early end, so if he wants to go to bed early it may not change for a long while! We tried a lot to change his rhythms and nothing worked. The other thing I weanted to suggest was that you try shifting around his eating habits a little as we have often found that his sleeping patters will follow his eating patterns. Like, when we wanted him to sleep later in the am we pushed his moring bottle back by like 15 mins each day so that he was rating later and then he started sleeping in later. Now that we want him to take one long nap in the day instead of 2 short ones, we are moving his lunch time from 12pm back to 10:45 so that he will get used to *not* waking to eat at noon! Anyways, things to try,

sounds like everyone is busy, busy

Burk--i hope poor T gets some asthma relief. Poor thing. and go ahead and sport that bikini!! You look great. period.!! I decided i don''t care what i look like this summer. our summers are sooo short and I need to get Co comfortable with the water so iam going to be a pasty white, cellulite and jelly-bellied mom on the beach this year
3.gif

Penelope--your daughter sounds beyond precious. that story melted my heart!

Lili--my DD based on my early ultrasounds was June 6th, which has obviously passed. But based on my calculations that take into account a longer cycle, i am thinking more 10th-12th (i like to go by the 12th for sanity reasons!) . i still don''t have any labor signs tho..booo

Qtie--kids just love the water don''t they? I think it''s a good time to get them into lessons! I am focusing on that too this summer!

Puffy--hope you have a better week this week. I feel for you. packing and being 9 mos pregnant is no fun either! Packing in general is just crappy!

I'm alive and in one piece! Graduation went well, they walked out to pomp and circumstance, sang 2 songs, and I managed to keep it together for the first, but was in tears by the 2nd song which was about growing up. Had a great night Saturday and Sunday was relaxing, but I was EXHAUSTED by Sun night that I slept for 11 hours! Felt soooo good. Luckily DH was off work on Monday to take care of the kids while I slept in.

Blen, oh my gosh, howling...how adorable. Has G started going to daycare? How is that going?

Sabine, teething stinks. Hope Jacks is sleeping better!

MrsS, yaay for swimming!!! So exciting. Penelope didn't learn to swim til she turned 4!

Burk, helloooo summer. Makes me feel normal to hear when other people are going through the same thing and that Pen is not the only big sister feeling this way. P has always been a daddy's girl, but has recently begun favoring me. She's very sensitive these days and will run to me saying, "daddy's being a bully"...she fluctuates between being super tomboy to girly tween that DH has to be on top of what he's playing/saying with her. Swimming is P's favorite, too. Axel THINKS he can swim so goes straight in and jumps to us with no fear! Scary.

Jas12, no good advice here, but I hope you're holding the new baby in your arms soon!

QT, thanks, mom guilt will never go away, will it? Glad M enjoyed the pool! How old is J again?
36.gif
for rolling to belly!

lili, thanks, I try to remind myself that every first born child has to go through this, but it's still tough to see. She is a happy & loving kid so I know she's thriving.
1.gif

Hi everyone else! Axel has really started understanding things. When we ask him where his shoes or sock monkey (that he sleeps with) are, he runs to get and bring them to us. Has also started hugging stuffed animals...puts both arms around them and bring them up to his cheek. And when I ask him to throw something away he'll crush it between his hands and throw it in the trash.

Jas12--
I''m sending you lots of labor dust.
But I have to say that it wouldn''t surprise me if you do go a week past your EDD just because you are carrying so much smaller this time.
There''s still plenty of room in there for baby to grow and move around :)
You better check in every day now so we won''t be jumping to conclusion that you are in labor ;)
Can''t wait to see who is baking in there.
Lots of contraction dusts!

jas12 hopefully you go into labor sooner rather than later. i can''t wait to hear boy or girl. thanks, i am definitely hoping to have a better week.

penelope your little man sounds so cute!! it''s great to see that they ''get'' so much! glad the graduation went well. i was already a hot mess the other night just thinking about sending B to his first day of preschool in a few months...i can''t even imagine.

burk how are the kids? enjoy your summer break and hope you get back to your old self soon, but i am sure you look great!

lili how are you? and how is ms. J?

qt how''s work going? hope the kids are both doing well!!

Burk
Poor T. Hope she the neb and steroids give her some much needed relief.
That''s great you guys had a fun day at the pool.
We wanted to take J to the pool this past weekend too...but alas our community pool has been closed for the past 2 months because some wild ducks got in it.
Hope they open it soon, cuz the weather is getting hotter and J has been eyeing the pool every time we drive past it.
She''ll just have to settle w/ waddling in our big tub for now.

Puffy
Hehe...that must have been some scare...but I could have easily told you there''s nothing to worry about since it is not your fertile months :D
Wow....can''t believe N is already on the move.
How great is that B is taking a load off your hands w/ keeping N entertained.
That''s what my friend said about putting their time in w/ the first and reap the rewards w/ the second since their daughter pretty much teaches the baby brother everything that her parents taught her.
Same goes for my nieces too.
Hope the packing goes smoothly.
When are you guys planning on moving into the new house?
Were there any reno?
I just remembered about your closet....so that project went down the drain huh?
Don''t know if I''ve congratulated on B getting into preschool yet....so
36.gif
36.gif

J and I are doing great, though I have to say that J has been a major whiner in the last couple of days.
Everything is "wah wah" and crocodile tears. Aiyaiyai.

Penelope
How nice to sleep in!
I can''t remember the last time I sleep past 9 am on the weekends.

Just checking in to let you ladies know I am (barely) alive. I am drowning in reading, papers (APA hell is more like it), study charts, and just had my first exam. So much more has to be done in the next two weeks. Teaches me NEVER to take 2 summer courses again, at least not until I am in the groove. Turning assignments online is really freaking me out BTW.

Tessa is doing really great. She seems to have adjusted to daycare but gets so tired and cranky b/c girlfriend dropped her nap.
38.gif
I am NOT happy about that! She has a new boyfriend
20.gif
and actually DEMANDED a playdate with her best friend on Sunday. She has attitude for sure. I feel like I have a teenager, but she is a sweet heart and gets so excited to see me "MY MOMMY! MY MOMMY IS HERE!" Once we work out the sleeping thing and the school thing life will be calmer. I am only taking one class next session. I know my limitations
2.gif

tacori, check out www.perrla.com; it was the best $25 i spent during grad school. it''s a program that does apa formatting for you. it''s not perfect so you''ll do some editing, but it will save you time and frustration (i was accustomed to mla).i sound like an infomercial.

Jas12~Thanks. I like your summer time motto but I am much further out PP than you and so I have no excuse to still be as flabby as I am...just haven''t had the time to work out like I need to. Hopefully by then end of the summer I''ll feel bikini ready! Can''t wait to meet your new little one!!

Pennelope~Yep, perfectly normal....mommy guilt is not fun! So cute that Axel is ready to swim already!

puffy~Sorry things aren''t going as planned. Hopefully everything gets back in order soon. Kids are doing good. K is not sleeping well still but T seems to be feeling better and they''re both happy as can be so that''s all I can ask for, right?!
2.gif

lili~She seems to be feeling better already. Hope your pool opens soon!

Tacori~Glad you''re both adjusting well. Sorry about no nap...T just pulled that on me today and I do NOT like it!!

K''s 4 month check-up is today. I''m excited to see how big he''s gotten (since he''s wearing mostly 9 month clothes I''m expecting BIG). DH is in Miami all week so my sister is coming to stay tonight. T is so excited. Hope all the mommies are doing well!!

just a quick check in to read up on everyone and see if there is any baby news from jas12....

tacori-reading your schedule wears me out. Once you get back in the groove of school I bet things start to run much smoother for you. bummer on T giving up her naps. jake will skip a few days here and there...drives me nuts b/c I am sooooo not ready for him to not nap.

burk-can''t wait to here K''s check up stats!!

lili-How''s J doing?

penelope, yay for sleeping in!!

heading off to teach water aerobics (if we don''t get rained out with the storm forcast)

hope everyone is doing well!!!

Kim, thanks I will check it out! Does it just format citations? Luckily our library website does that. Also my sister told me about Purdue Owl which is very helpful.

Burk, T went to MILs for dinner (she picked her up from daycare) and of course she fell asleep in the car (around 7:30). The kid never transferred well so when I carried her in she fought to get down. I put her down and 30 seconds later she was SOUND asleep on the door mat. No joke. Haha. THAT is the result of not napping for a 2.5 year old. K is four months old already?!?! Time flies!

MrsS, NOW is the time I NEED her to nap. Oh well. I am just not in control and have to remind myself that on a daily basis
2.gif
I have never been so tired...well except for when T was a baby. They say that I will spend 3 hours out of class per hour in class...I am in class for around 24 hours a week...yeah...
24.gif

Tacori - that sounds exhausting. The one good thing that I will say about summer classes is that the semester''s short and will be over sooner-than-usual.

Jas12 - Wow, you are in the home stretch! Thinking of you.

Puffy - good luck with the packing!

G started in daycare on Monday. I am not too enthusiastic right now. He only came home with 3 wet (cloth) diapers on Monday and Tuesday, and so DH talked to her about it yesterday evening and she dilligently changed every 2 hours today. Not all of the "dirty" diapers she sent back home with us today were even wet. So now I''m wondering - how often do you typically diaper a toddler, using disposables? That''s what she''s used to, so maybe I''m being unnecessarily judgmental on this?

We also had some miscommunication re: glasses. She thought that she was supposed to leave glasses and patch on for three hours and then take everything off, whereas his forms clearly state glasses for all waking hours, patch for three waking hours. So he didn''t have his glasses on when DH got there on Monday, and so he talked to her about that and that situation seems cleared up.

G''s also been super clingy for drop-off, but I''m guessing that''s age-related and/or adjustment-related.

I''m trying to give it a little time, since everything but the diapers may just be adjusting to a new situation and she at least seemed responsive to that. I''m also stopping by for an unannounced visit tomorrow.

Oh, and dude has a fever. It''s low grade enough that he was still okay for daycare, but he''s been Mr Grumps ever since I got home tonight. Evidently he was okay for most of the day. We told her that he had a fever that was within being-at-daycare guidelines and to call us if it got worse, so she was looking out for it.

mrss~I wish I could take your water aerobics class!!

Tacori~That is too funny about T on the door mat! My T fell asleep in K''s glider while I was feeding him his bedtime bottle tonight (6:30) and then popped right up when I tried to get up. These girls of ours!

Blen~How many hours is he in daycare? T''s room (18 months-2.5 years approx) has a pretty strict schedule and they change diapers I think 4 times from 8-5. So, right after snack they change all the kids, right after lunch, right after nap, and one other time I can''t think of. They obviously change dirty diapers whenever they smell one but other than that they just stick to the schedule for the most part to maintain routine and order. So, I guess I don''t necessarily think 3 wet diapers would be an issue with disposable diapers. Sounds like she''s receptive if you give her direction? Dropping in unannounced is a good idea. Let us know how it goes!

Burk, thanks for weighing in. He''s there from 7:30-5:30 (long, I know

) which is why it just seems like so few to me. He didn''t poop at daycare either day, so they were all just wet. I''m glad that she''s being so receptive though.

Blen I think they change Hunter''s diaper every 2 hours, but sometimes the record says "dry" when he is at daycare. I bet he has about 3 heavy wet ones in 8 hours?

puffy, thanks! He''s getting really fun/funny except today he is being cranky pants so put him down earlier than usual. lol at being a hot mess before it even starts. B will loooove preschool!

lili, oh I know, I don''t normally sleep past 9am either although DH is first to wake up with the kids on weekends.

hope you have fun with the sis! I love when mine visits. She lives in Chicago now and when she comes down we take Penelope and go shopping or to the beach, and stay up late eating junk food, telling stories and cry from laughing like old times hehe.

mrss, you are a busy lady aren''t ya. What a fun job!

blen, I change Axel once he gets up (he''ll usually poo in it almost immediately so I change again), when he wakes up from nap at 12, then before his next afternoon nap. So about 3-4 diapers in 7-8 hours. But I think since cloth is being used, he should be changed more than that? Esp in 10 hours. Hope the kinks with the daycare get worked out and that G kicks the fever and feels back to normal.

Going to the beach today!!! Finally, sunny FL is good for something
