I''ve seen how much help everyone is in offering advice and searching for stones so I have a project for you!!
If you had a $3000 budget (tops $3500) what stone would you pick? Here are my basic parameters:
color: E-G
clarity: would prefer eye-clean SI1 or even SI2 (I''ve heard there are eye-clean ones to be found)
cut: I don''t have to have the absolute best but it is my most important characteristic
carat: I would prefer 3/4 carat at least and of course larger but I''m not sure if my budget allows for it
I''m planning to set it in a plain white gold solitaire and pair it with a shared prong round 1/2 eternity band.
I''m also curious how rounds compare to other shapes as far as prices are concerned. All things being equal, would a round be more expensive than a cushion of the same size or vice versa? I don''t even know if that''s a comparison that can be made. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Unfortunately my boyfriend isn''t the details and research type so it''s falling to me. He''d just rather I walk into a jewelry store and say "that one." Too bad it''s not that easy!!!!
