Princess cut grading, how to determine on GIA

Hello. So I've spent the last two months reading this forum and reading the tutorials on diamond grading in general (and in particular grading of princess cuts) both here on pricescope as well as many of the sponsors websites and beyond....and first I want to thank all of you for such amazing guidance and the time you spend guiding people in the right direction.

Now I realize that this question is one that is probably always coming up....but I must admit, despite a number of searches of this forum using different combinations of search terms, I haven't been able to come up with a thread that adequately addresses this question.

So here goes. How do you go about understanding the quality of the cut grade on a GIA Princess Cut diamond, in particular when you are looking at princess diamonds on the reputable sites (for example Whiteflash, GoG, JA, BG to name a few) discussed on this forum and there are both AGS and GIA princess cut diamonds compared together? I realize it's a kinda long winded question but in essence I would like to be able to consider GIA graded princess cuts at the same time as AGS graded ones and feel as though I'm still going to receive close to what would be an AGS 0 with a GIA graded princess diamond.

For those who like specifics, I'm looking for a princess cut somewhere around 1ct, AGS 0, D-F (would consider G), and up to VS2....although this being said, I'm flexible around some of these and my budget is flexible.

I am very sorry if this been discussed seemingly too frequently but I'm still quite confused despite reading as many tutorials and threads as I can. I thank you very much for your help. Have a great day.

Only way is to get an ASET image and then it is still a single view. AGS grades princess in ASET tilt over a range of angles.

Or get a sarin scan and full data file (.srn file) and then we can do all the views of ASET30 and ASET40 that AGS would use for their cut grading. Even better that file can be run through AGS PGS to determine an LP grade. GOG does this for Solasfera diamonds and other princess cuts.

But really the answer is you won't, AGS princess cuts command a premium they are more expensive to produce due to lower yield from the rough. There is no cheating this, and no bargains to get around this, if you want the light performance you will have to pay for it.

Thank you for the replies. This is the conclusion I had come to previously before posting.....it seems that unless you are fairly advanced in your understanding of how to assess the light dynamics of a princess cut from the ASET or Sarin images it is very difficult to evaluate a GIA princess cut grade. I know for myself that cut is important enough that the premium for an AGS 0 stone is probably worth it (despite the awknowledgement that this contributes to the premium that these stones command). Again, thank you for all your help. I've learned a lot and maybe will post when I come up with some specific stones I'm interested in.
