Pricing on Chrysoberyls?

Love the Homer stone! I’d love to see a video. I agree that a pendant might be the safest bet though it’s sad you couldn’t enjoy it…

I wonder about a creative signet ring with a faux bezel? (probg set)

If it were mine, I would 100% bezel it as a signet-style ring. (Or maybe faux bezel, as @Dreamer_D suggests.) The heraldic vibes of the shape cry out for this. You could scallop the sides and shoulders, or set it with the corners recessed in little 'cups'. Lots of possibilities. But that's my (pretty conventional, male) taste. It may not be yours.

If you go with a pendant, consider setting it diagonally, so that the 'knobs' at the corners made a cross. I think this would look good, if you are happy with the symbolism.

I love the idea of bezeling all those curves... it would protect them too. You could always add some milgrain to lighten/feminize the look, OP!

You all are giving me some great ideas! I wonder if I could milgrain bezel and then set a metal halo around it as well (this stone is asking for platinum imo) that follows the curves and has maybe demantoids at each point and diamonds the rest of the way. Hmmmm.

Wow does it look as neon as Homers video in some lighting? I like the neon and the more grassy.

I think it will outside. We have had steady rain so I have not been outside with him yet. I am just so happy he looks so green under low light conditions!

The reason why vanadium chrysoberyl is rare is that its blue-green hue is different from the yellow-green hue of ordinary chrysoberyl. We also like this unusual blue-green hue. This hue comes from the element vanadium, but it does not mean that as long as there is vanadium, there will be a blue-green hue.
So we should first pay attention to the color of the gemstone, and then it is necessary to discuss the element. If a chrysoberyl has the same yellow-green color as ordinary chrysoberyl, whether it is called vanadium chrysoberyl or not has no substantial effect except giving the merchant an extra high price.

Oval neon green vanadium chrysoberyl 1.82ct, round mint green vanadium chrysoberyl 7.69ct
