I promise this is a bling post but first this is an appreciation post.

I put a stunning ring aside end of last year with Jocelyn (Gilded Lane) and utilized her amazing layaway plan. To me, this ring or really stone I was after, was to celebrate coming off an anti-anxiety drug that proved to be extremely difficult emotionally and physically. I started the layaway right after I hit my year of being off this medication because it was such a huge feat considering I had been taking it for 10 years. I put in a lot of hard work in therapy to get to this point and dang it, I was celebrating me =)2

Fast forward. Since starting my layaway, I’ve been following Jocelyn’s stories - she posted a lot about her kitties and dogs. She started posting about one of her kitties, Bob, that had cancer - my family was also supporting one of our kitties, Opie, through chemotherapy for his lymphoma. Sadly, she had help Bob cross the rainbow bridge and my heart hurt for her :( Last Monday, we too had to make the gut wrenching decision to help Opie cross the rainbow bridge. I paid off my layaway the same day we let Opie go and I told her about our struggles. She asked for some pictures of him which I shared gladly. All of this to say that my ring came in today - the same day we picked up Opie’s ashes. I open my UPS box to find along with the beautiful ring, a stuffed animal with Opie’s coloring. Of course I was a mess because of the sweetest gesture and kindness shown by Jocelyn - so I just wanted to say what a truly wonderful experience buying from her has been but also say just what a thoughtful human she is first and foremost!

The ring! The ring is beautiful, of course! The center is a 1.6 OP/SI2 surround by a halo of .74 cts of old European cut diamonds. There is a semi cup around the center stone to bring out its buttery undertones and what an awesome design choice that was! The ring just glitters from every angle and looks killer in lower lighting! I grabbed some pictures that are ok but they don’t capture her sparkle - one day I’ll get really good at that…maybe :lol-2: So here she is, her name is Marigold!

I’m throwing in a picture of Opie because he was the best boy ever and I miss him terribly! IMG_5659.jpeg

Very unique setting!! The diamond looks right at home in it.
So sorry about your kitty. Her kind gesture of the stuffed animal was really over the top and I am sure much appreciated. Our pets are so hard to lose and I know her kindness was very appreciated by you! Wear your new ring in health and happiness!

Thank you  Today has been an emotional roller coaster but mostly I’m feeling thankful!

Wow! I remember this ring and admired it when she posted it originally. Is the setting original or a reproduction?

Lucky girl with two rings added to your collection in the same month(s)!

I'm sorry about your kitty.

Awww sweet Opie! How very kind that Jocelyn did such a thoughtful thing!

I am enamored with your new ring!!! I love the presence that it has on your hand. The diamonds are so bright and beautiful!!! You wear her well.

Hugs to you my dear friend!

Your cat was beautiful, how kind of the seller. The tears it provoked were probably cathartic. I lost Foster last June. There's nothing like a cat.
The ring, oh yeah, fabulous and distinct, a beautiful physical reminder of two painful transitions. May it bring you strength and good memories.

Thank you - it’s a reproduction made by David Klass =)2 Very well done, as per the usual!

Lucky me on ban island but also yes, I’m a very happy girl!

Thank you <3

Thank you, friend! It’s the small gestures that sometimes mean so much!

You’re so sweet! It’s such a glitterball in real life! Even the hubby kept commenting on it!

Many big squishes to you, too!

Thank you! He was just the absolute sweetest cat I’ve ever known - just loved love at any time! He spent his days following me around the house. His absence is felt deeply.

I’m very sorry for your loss :(2 A friend of mine said if love could have healed them, they would be here forever and that helped me a great deal.

Thank you - I couldn’t have said it better!

Can you post some photos of the gallery/profile?

I'm so sorry about Opie and what a lovely gesture from Jocelyn. It makes me want to buy from her! What a lovely ring and something that will make you remember Opie by.

Marigold is beautiful and so is Opie. I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing my love-of-my-life cat continues to be one of the hardest things I have experienced. I'm glad you can have Marigold in this time and that Jocelyn did such a sweet surprise.

Thank you, NTJ - I’m truly sorry for your loss, too! It’s hard to explain to people how much Opie meant to me. He was our family cat, but he was my constant companion. I work from home and he always sat next to me in some capacity and while he was sick, he never left my side. I felt horrible guilt because I always wondered if there was more I could be doing for him. He was my cuddle partner and I miss him tremendously. Jocelyn couldn’t have been any kinder - this will always stay with me. She has a fan for life!

I am so sorry to hear about Opie. The death of a pet is gut wrenching. It’s very clear he gave you years of happiness & you will keep his memory alive for a long time to come. The kitty teddy is perfect & I completely teared up when I saw the pictures. What an amazing thing to do!

Congratulations on your independence from medication & go you, girlfriend! This is absolutely something to celebrate & the ring is killer! That setting is a really unusual spin on a traditional halo & I love it :kiss2: Wear in lots of health & happiness!

I always had the same worry and guilt for the love of my life cat too, especially thinking that I should have caught his kidney failure earlier. But something about Opie's condition told you he was ready to go and I think you need to try to trust that. How lucky for you both that you could spend so much time with him while working from home. I was very grateful to have been able to do the same with mine. I think people who haven't had that bond with a cat will just never understand, there's the constancy and dependency that makes the relationship so special and strong.

And more positively, congratulations on getting off of the medication! It's nice to have this beautiful piece as a celebration and a memorial.

Thank you for getting what I’m talking about - it’s been very hard to relate! You’re right though, we’ve been lucky to spend so much time with them! I’ll get there…the days where I remember more of the good times and less of the heartbreak.

Sorry to hear about you beloved cat's passing. I hope this ring will remind you of the good times with him.

An OEC cluster/halo has been on my wish list for a looooong time and I keep having to remind myself that I already got two expensive rings this year, there's nothing I can do or achieve to justify another this year. But I still dream. There's just something about an OEC surrounded by OECs... Anyway, I love all the stones in this one. I would love to see more videos in different lighting too. I can't believe that's an OP! I assume she comes off quite yellow in person, inspiring the Marigold name?

Im so sorry about dear sweet Opie! Its so incredibly hard to lose a pet, they love us so unconditionally and literally put their lives in our hands and it's so hard to know when to let them go.

Once you struggle to let them go and deal with THAT guilt, there is almost a sense of relief that the constant worry and anxiety is gone... and then you feel guilty for that too! Its so hard to love pets because their lives are so short. But you just love them with all you have while they're here. I am so sorry.

Marigold is STUNNING, i absolutely LOVE it, the blackened setting really makes the diamonds pop. And you definitely deserve it after all the incredibly hard work that must have went into your healing journey.

Stunning! Congratulations. I hope she reminds you every day of your hard work and accomplishment. Marigold looks beautiful on your hand!

Bee You Tee Full cluster ring!!! Sending u supportive/consoling hugs! So sorry for your loss. Kudos to you Beating and kicking the the anti depression meds! Truly an achievement!! Enjoy your new beauty!!

You did indeed get two beautiful rings this year…I would, however, support an OEC cluster ;)2 It’s an OP but with a yellow gold semi cup under the center stone which brings out her warmth. I would say she’s YELLOW but she’s sunny and warm - she just made me think of a marigold, a beautiful and warm flower. I’ll post some pics of her where I think she shows her color.IMG_6288.jpegIMG_6282.jpegIMG_6278.jpeg

Thank you x a million, my sweetest friend <3 <3 <3

I couldn’t explain that part about grief and the relief felt, any better :(2

I do wonder if the diamonds sparkle more because of the blackened area around the halo…

Beautiful ring! I love the setting. And so sorry about Opie as I know how hard it can be to lose a beloved pet. The fact that Jocelyn sent you that gift was truly a sweet gesture.
