Inspired by the wedding cake thread! How about everyone posts a pic of their favorite cake or cakes? Cupcakes work, too!
 
i personally would never do this, but i love this one because i think it''s hilarious!

Toni Braxton's is my favorite cake EVER...I saw it I think in In Style when I was in HS and SERIOUSLY considered copying it for our wedding...but DH couldn't stand the taste of fondant, so we went much simpler - square white buttercream, 3 layers, tiffany blue grosgrain ribbon trim (bow at the top).

My favorite cake is the inspiration our baker is using to make ours. Ours will be 3 tiers, and she''s going to style the flowers to match the ones on our Precious Moments figurine. Surprisingly, it was FI''s favorite of all the possibilities we found.

This cake is our inspiration cake. Surprisingly, FI took a much more vested interest in the cake design then I expected. Lots of what I had saved was "too pretty" or "to girly". Aren''t cakes supposed to be pretty?

So, we started looking together and liked this one, along with some other ones that are similar. We won''t be doing the flowers in between the layers, though.

I think this is the cutest though the $800 price tag of the cake "jewelry" is a doozy.

The chocolate cake with yellow flowers is beautiful!

I fell in love with coconut cake at the tasting and could not stand to have anything else. So I had to find an inspiration pic that was coconut. Here's the one I showed the baker.

This isn''t a very clear picture - but this is my exact cake. This was made for a wedding in December by my cake bakers and I''ve selected the exact same cake. I''m in love with it - I have a fleur de lis theme - the layers are each different - I can''t wait to EAT THE WHOLE CAKE! hehe!

This is what mine will look like except (from bottom to top) it will square, hexagon, cirle, hexagon. The pattern on the bottom tier will be the pattern for my # 1 and # 3 tiers. Tiers # 2 and # 4 will look like strings of pearls cascading down the sides. The pattern for tiers 1 and 3 will also be more pearlized.

star cakes. My favorite is Collette Peters'' Rainbow Room Cake, but I couldn''t get an image of it on the internet. So I''ll take a pic of it in the book in a little bit.(Hers is white fondant with gold stars and stunning.)

me, too!! i have an obsession with stars--they''re even tattooed on me! here''s one i saw a while back in a bridal magazine and liked.

I love this cake! It''s in my inspiration book! Do you have a bakery yet and did they say what the difficulty will be for the cake?
 
Lauren- that looks beautiful and delicious.

I love stars too... for a lot of reasons, but mainly because they''re sparkly and purty.

That is really pretty... love the white shimmer on flat white... very elegant.
