Dont shoot me...I just got a Nikon D40 and I haven''t played much with it! Although most of the pics I''ll post was prior to the Nikon. This was the 4th and I had tried out shutter speeds!
The D200 is definitely a solid performer with a fan following. I am sure having an internal focus motor is really going to open things up for you, lens wise. You have really taken off with this hobby. Are you looking to go pro-am / pro soon? I ask because the D200 can really take you places that the D60 could not. Are you going to sell the D60, or keep it around as your back-up camera? I have read people advancing from D40/60 systems like to keep their cameras because they are a nice back-up due to their size. Any new lenses on the horizion for youDate: 1/29/2009 8:36:56 PM

So far, very easy. I don''t have to go into the menu to change settings with this camera - instead there are a billion little buttons on the body that let''s me change stuff. It''s a little harder for me than it would be for most people, because I have REALLY tiny hands, but it''s still an amazing camera. It''s so good in low light, and my Sigma 50mm Macro lens autofocuses on it!
My first shot with it:

I finally bought a camera myself, not a DSLR though. After months of self torture (bouncing back and forth between the d40/60 and d80), I just could not bring myself to invest in a camera system just yet, so I went with the Panasonic DMC-FZ28. It got really good reviews and many DSLR people who bought one said that it offers them enough auto features to ''rough it'' when they do not feel like dragging their DSLR system around. It has a 18X zoom with wide angle capability and 10 mps, so I figure this will be a great camera to learn from. When lazy, I can leave it on auto or can go 100% manual and it shoots in RAW. It even has the shape of a DSLR, so I can pretend I have a cool camera...just kidding. The only ''knock'' I have with this camera is that it lacks a hotshoe, which may get annoying down the line. I suppose that will be the time when I upgrade to a DSLR. Ah well, this camera is suited for shooting outside anyway, I mean, what in the heck am I going to zoom 18X on in my apartment?

I have heard a lot of good things about that Panasonic. The only other camera that is a P&S but still worth the buy is the G9/G10. When do we get to see some shots with it?
I am intending on going pro in the future. With my tax return my husband and I are buying a D300 and a 24-70mm F2.8 Nikkor lens. (Geez, just SAYING that makes me excited!) I am going to sell the D60 to a co-worker for what I paid for the D200, so that will be really nice. What I''m getting all this stuff for is so I can shoot weddings - I''ll have the 50mm on the D200, and the 24-70mm on the D300, so I won''t have to worry about swapping lenses out during the wedding. I''ve had a couple people ask me about what I would charge for a wedding so I figure I must be getting decent enough to attract some attention. Hopefully in the coming month I''ll get my website and business cards out so I can really start pushing myself. I would love for this to be a good second source of income, doing something that will just be fun for me.I figure all these model shoots I''m doing will really help me out in the long run - I have one scheduled for every weekend in February.
