So I got this OMC diamond ring a few months ago, but I have to confess that it has gotten too much wear. I am hesitant to wear it because I feel that it competes too much with my Ering and also, its quite delicate. image_2301.jpg
So my solution lately is to stack it, like this.

But I wonder if doing so is detracting attention from the actual stone?
TIA for your opinions.
For reference, here is my Ering:

I think that the stack is gorgeous! Especially as a RHR.

I do not think that it competes with your gorgeous engagement ring. Both rings are beautiful but in different ways.

I voted "both". But I also feel you should wear it any way that brings you pleasure or makes you comfortable.

What a gorgeous ring. I am a dissenting vote as I greatly prefer the look of the ring on its own, esp on the right hand. It seems to get lost in the sauce with all the stacking rings. Enjoy!

I agree. The stacking looks too random. But that's just my taste. All your rings are gorgeous.

This is my reaction too.

Also, is the RH diamond halo ring set in yellow gold? It looks that way to me... if so, maybe try a matching pair of thin yellow gold bands (engraved or high-polish) on either side?

I like it as a stand alone ring.

They look comparable in size but are completely different in style, right down the metal. So I say, enjoy them both however you like it best. Personally, I think I prefer it alone.

Both rings are gorgeous, but I can understand why you wouldn't wear the halo much because I wouldn't either. It's not that I care too much about "competing" rings, but the styles are just too similar and it sort of looks like you're wearing two E-rings. I wouldn't stack the halo either because it doesn't work as a stacker IMO. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably be investigating a reset in an effort to accomplish a RHR that I was comfortable wearing on a regular basis. They truly are lovely rings though, so wear them in whatever ways makes you happy =)

I voted for a. Stacking causes the omc to appear lost in the midst of the rings. But wear what makes you happiest.

Thanks to all of you who have given me advice. I can see that many of you are indeed addressing my concerns. There used to be a time when halo rings were considered right hand rings. In fact, one of the fears some had about haloing their engagement rings was that they would look too much like cocktail rings. Now here we are, and I think that halo rings have become traditional as e-rings, hence my concern. I dont' like the idea of wearing two engagement rings because when I see this look on others, I don't appreciate it. I am trying to avoid the two e-ring look, so I added the stacking. Also, the stacking just makes it more comfortable to wear on the right hand, since the right hand is always so active, I feel like it needs more support? So I tried stacking it with a yellow gold plain band and bc I don't have another yellow gold band, another plain white gold band, as some of you suggested. Here is a picture: image_2759.jpg
I think the solid bands help in highlight the OMC, not in losing it with all the sparkle. Open to more feedback.

Ohhhhh love the new look with the solid bands the best. Even the WG and YG combination looks interesting.

Even as a stack, I still think that the ring looks like another E-ring, so my thoughts are the same. Again, though, wear the rings as you enjoy them! :D

I think when you wear bands with it, it looks even more like you are wearing a wedding set on both hands. So I would skip the bands with the halo ring unless you had two thin diamond bands set in yellow gold as someone else suggested. I don't think any of the bands really goes with that ring. Both your e-ring and the halo ring are very pretty!

I like it with the plain bands. I would stack or not depending on my mood. I love your wedding set as well.

Love it best either with the polished bands or worn by itself. I think you want the bands to be low profile so they don't eat into the support for the halo, yes?

BTW--Your engagement ring and wedding set are to die for.

nala Are you still rocking this RHR combo? How do you feel about it? I am trying to stack with my grandmother's e ring and am having the same dilemma you posted about.
