I have been deliberating for the past few weeks as to which of these two I want for my e-ring setting. I love them both, but for different reasons. Unfortunately, everything that one has, the other doesn't.

My stone will be a .75ct-.85ct asscher.

A. I love the thin shank look, but also love how tapered shanks can make smaller diamonds just POP and appear larger.

B. I love pave, and the BlueNile setting has great reviews, but should I trust BlueNile with pave? What I mean by that, is that BlueNile ain't no Leon Mege. Am I safer with the common prong?

If anyone has either of these settings, PLEASE post pictures!
What do you guys think!? Pictures below.

I voted for option 2. I think it looks classy and pretty. Option one to me looks a little dated.

I like the poll format on this question, nice work! Keeps it neat!

I picked the second one, obviously, because I think it really focuses the attention on the stone, and it is a lot more classic. Also, I think it suits the shape of your stone, and it will make it look even bigger. Good luck deciding!

No sense dragging it out with unneeded details, eh? To the point!

I voted the second one, I much prefer it. I agree that a tapered shank can make the stone pop, but IMHO a 3.5 mm shank will overwhelm that Asscher even if it tapers.

I voted for the JA. Even though I tend to like thicker rings (3-3.5 mm) I love the look of the common prong. It really accents the stone and it just seems more feminine to me.

Well at 16-0 in the 1.9mm James Allen''s favor, I think that''s that then!

I was leaning toward the JA anyway, thanks all for throwing me over the edge!

I forgot to vote in the poll...but I much prefer the second choice. For asscher cuts, I like thin bands to show off all of that depth! If had an asscher set in a thicker band I choose one without side diamonds.

Yep another vote here for the JA setting. I think it''ll really make the stone pop. It definitely highlights the center stone rather than detracting from it.

Can''t wait to see pics of the finished product!

I voted for the 2nd one (James Allen), because I feel it highlights the diamond better. There is too much metal in the NB one, and it hides the diamonds, both in the band and the centre stone (IMHO).

I voted for the JA. It''s the setting I have and I love it. It''s classic, adds some extra sparkle when the lighting''s right, seems to make the stone pop and appear larger than it is. I have a 1.3 rb center stone that looks more like a 2 carat. I also have bigger fingers and having the center stone appear larger looks better.

The JA is stunning and at 65 votes I think you may have an answer!

Ditto.

I think the James Allen one is just super classy and delicate.

The wider Blue Nile setting will overwhelm the stone. The James Allen is much prettier.

With #1, looking face down upon the ring, the part where the shank meets up with the diamond looks awkward since the metal doesn''t actually connect.

#2 for an asscher, definitely.

I personally prefer a taper in the opposite direction for an asscher (obviously

), or any square stone, if at all.

I normally like tapered settings, but I prefer the JA settting for a smallish Asscher. The tapered band is too wide for me.
