Just wondering what a ballpark price is for having a chip polished out of a diamond that is about 1ct? I just got an old euro round that has great facet pattern but a decently large chip and was wondering if I should keep it...

It will cost around $300-$500. The thing is you will lose ct weight and there is always a risk when "polishing out a chip". You will need to talk to an expert about the chip first.

Yeah, thinking more about it, I don't think I"d be brave enough to repolish/recut.
The stone is quite pretty as it is, and I might be able to bezel it? I'm contacting the seller to see if we can settle on a fair price given the chip, so we'll see...

Is it the little nick at 12 o'clock in picture #1?

Haha, I wish, it's actually the weird curve between 9 and 10oclcok. It's actually strangely hard to take a picture of.

If it's not for sale and it doesn't bug you, don't mess with it.
If it IS for sale, get professional advice. You probably STILL don't want to mess with it but it's a complicated question.
If you like it as it is but it bugs you a little bit, try having the stone rotated in the setting so it is under a prong. Not that this changes anything real but you won't have to look at it again. It's still beautiful.
If it bugs you a lot, or if you can't abide by the 'sweep it under the rug' strategy, talk to a pro.
