I know that this advice has been given over and over, but i cannot find anything when i do a search! can anyone walk me through taking some clear FOCUSED pics of me new ring????

Thank you in advance!

I take mine under the lights in my bathroom because my diamond sparkles a lot under it...find yourself good nonfluorescent lighting first...then find the angle your diamond sparkles best under and turn your camera''s flash on, then zoom in (I take some pics at 50% zoom and others at 100% zoom). You know how you focus the object you''re photographing so that it''s right in the middle of the square that shows up on the lens when you''re about to snap the picture? I make it so my diamond is not in the square...I make it right below the square or right above the square...and then I turn autofocus on. Make sure to hold the ring very steady...then snap the picture. Hope that helps!

It also helps if you have a macro setting on your camera - it usually is shaped like a little flower. Click on it, and then prop yourself against something stationary so that the natural movement of your body doesn''t blur your picture. Get as close as your focus will allow, take a deep breath and hold it, and snap. (Holding your breath tends to still the natural breathing movement that blurs macro pictures.)

I agree with what''s been said so far, but here''s something else I learned. Patience. You need to be patient and take a lot of shots. I took over 160 and only got 20 good ones. Lighting is key. I used the early morning sunlight for my pics. The macro setting was wonderful. My camera doesn''t let you zoom in with the macro, but you can get really close. I actually set my camera on top of the table or ledge or box or whatever is around and never actually held the camera. All the pics that I did hold the camera for came out blurry because the flash was turned off. If you use the macro setting with a flash, your pics will come out white because the flash over powers everything. So just be patient and keep trying. With all of these great tips coming in, you''ll be able to take great pics in no time. I can''t wait to see them!

Thank you all for the advice! i have a kodak easy share.. i am not sure that i have a macro setting...

What model of Easy Share do you have? Even the c513, which looks to be the most basic camera Kodak has on their website, has a close-up mode. It a little picture of a tulip when you change the picture mode. Maybe check your camera manual and see if you can find a close up mode or macro mode.

There was another thread, I had looked for it once and would like to see it again but have always been unable to find it. Someone posted pictures like a tutorial...........anyone remember that thread?
