Hi Ladies! I have been a MASSIVE lurker on this site for years and I am extremely jealous of your lovely sparkles!
I recently had a new engagement ring (long story, but a princess diamond cracked in my 12 stone pressure set ring of 3 quads
) and rather than try to get something similar I went for en entirely different style - a pear diamond solitaire. It is a stunning stone, D colour, VS2, 1.02 carats & I absolutely love it despite it not feeling as precious yet as my original ring. When I bought the diamond I wasn't wearing my full eternity, which I have always worn between wedding band & engagement ring. The setting we chose was perfect, but it doesn't sit with my eternity without all the claws grinding each other. My local jeweller made a 2mm spacer to accommodate the settings together, but I don't like the look of them & hate wearing 4 rings stacked - my finger feels strangled. I am currently wearing them eternity first, then wedding ring, then pear, but I am not terribly comfortable removing my wedding band each morning & evening. Prior to this issue I had never, ever removed my wedding band, not even for childbirth!
I am looking at having the pear re-set into more of a cathedral style setting. Can you show me your pear settings please, including a profile shot? My eternity sits proud off my finger for 2.9mm, so I will need a setting that site 3mm high before the claws make any appearance
Have any of you had similar problems? and how did you resolve it, apart from a spacer?
Huge thanks for your help
