I finally set my most recent emerald, 1.42 carats in a trillion and baguette setting. It’s a vibrant stone. Sunlight shots.

How lovely! :kiss2: I freaking adore emeralds and yours is beautiful! I love the 5 stone setting too. It compliments the emerald perfectly.

Ps. Really over here wishing emeralds weren’t so damn expensive so I could buy one.

I thought of you, @mellowyellowgirl. Big, green, & halo, ha.

That's for meeeeee!!!

I'm obsessed with chunky halos right now! Loving the petal look!

I've always loved it but always decided in the end to skimp on the diamonds for whatever reason.

For my next ring I think I'll just go for it......

Hi all, longggg time lurker as in over a decade, first time poster here! Thought I’d post some pics of what I’m told is an emerald ring with these bits of diamonds that I inherited. 65961027-4B37-4411-9FAC-992353D5BB64.jpeg

Not sure if you're looking for set or unset, or both, but here is mine, also from Dana. North Carolina emerald, .75 ct, 5.5 mm.

That is so cool that it was mined in the Carolinas! You can now eat whole hog and buy an emerald from the same two states

I had read that post by Robert Genis. It reminds me of a sapphire I recently submitted to AGL, and it came back as unheated, but oiled. Intrigued, I did some research. Apparently stones are sometimes submitted to get a clean report, and then oiled. Oiling improves clarity and is easy to remove and reapply. Buyer beware, indeed.

Wow, you have so many!

To answer your other question, that eBay seller is no longer active...sad.
Yes, that's just part of them, I have lots of small to med sized ones

Can we work out why most of us are ok with minor oil in emeralds?

Is it the risk that it would dry out and look vastly different at moderate/significant? But with minor we that that's unlikely?
I know these old threads don't answer your questions exactly but I thought they are useful still. You might have read them already.

AGL Prestige report shows Type & Stability Index on top of Degree. Maybe other labs do the same, not GIA, right?

Sample report.

I loved going through the beautiful emeralds in this thread, and wanted to share my new-to-me Victorian ring! The Colombian emerald is approx .75 and untreated, with OMC side stones.

Did I post my finished ring? I might have posted the stone but I don’t remember if I ever posted the finished ring.

Unplated white gold.
