Very nice pendant. I think moderate Oil is not a problem, as long as the emerald doesn't have any large open fissures in the table. Some time ago I bought an emerald with moderate oil from JR Colombian and it hasn't changed at all

Yes that's where I got mine from too! Very satisfied with the whole experience.

4 carat old cut Columbian Emerald. Very transparent, only one very tiny surface reaching fissure on the pavilion (will be sending to AGL) - the couple small spots on the table are actually scratches not fissures. Very glowy - I believe it might have the rare Gota De Aceite affect but will know for sure after it gets certified. Irl it’s a vibrant green - more saturated than the pics show and the inclusions are less irl as well. The ring is antique Victorian with old mine cut diamonds, so it’s old! Would love any thoughts 726BF5B1-8C91-42DE-B19E-A46CA3893CA1.jpeg DF727651-26C1-4623-AD4D-A6262D6106C5.jpeg 2BC5A79E-E827-41DC-9642-A3E9603A640C.jpeg 3E06E4F4-E370-4726-8FA0-D666F4D82C16.jpeg 9C20D512-CF46-4D19-AA00-2702609A9857.jpeg 5324C842-0F39-4415-8DB0-0D6E385DFCBF.jpeg 1A870804-49E5-48AA-8893-1C9725719F4B.jpeg C86421DA-C916-49F0-B9D8-8D902D93D82C.jpeg F8EA6B6B-C8C5-49E7-8EDE-C8F0F8B2085A.jpeg 605A4D2F-63BA-4011-8DF2-253DC8DCD9E7.jpeg FB557989-3667-47F8-97CC-42EEA03005C3.jpeg 04785699-BFC0-48FC-960B-3379F4497BDB.jpeg C09DE47F-0A58-4E1C-9472-05A31C78DF03.jpeg

It’s gorgeous.
My only thought would be is if you paid a premium for it being authentic antique ring - what is the backup information that was given?
Probably not the thoughts you were looking for - but I’m curious!

Hi, not sure what you mean by backup information?

In response to your questions in another thread-
You can click on each individual photo for clearer viewing.
I can try later to take closeup pictures of the surface reaching inclusions and tiny girdle chips, if you really want? Heck - the only reason I know the tiny girdle chips were there was DK side noted them when he received the stone for setting!
the price reflected its imperfect condition, but it doesn’t bother me one bit when I look at the stone in real life. I’m incredibly happy with it!
Of course if it were priced in the thousands - that would be a different situation.
The nature of it being an included emerald high dome cab and it’s setting = very infrequent wear and definitely very low activity with that hand while wearing.
I bought the stone from another PSer who bought it from ACStones. It’s not vintage nor antique- but really I have no way of knowing how old it is.

Oh wow…that glow!!!!
Really pretty and the cab heart is just amazing.
I’m now obsessed with emeralds and found a big hunky cab that has rich color but admittedly has surface reaching fissures. I’m told it will not affect stability but you can see them.
I don’t have pics and can’t get in to look until later this week so I’ll start a new thread.
In meantime enjoy that beauty!!!!

@Rfisher that emerald is lovely! I tried looking up that website and it doesn't appear they exist anymore; either that or they changed names. It's a beautiful ring!

Thank you - excited to see what you come up with!

@Mreader
Thank you! I have/had a few of his stones. They are all lovely and he was always a pleasure to talk to. Unfortunately he passed away last year. :((
The website was taken down.

So here is my latest. Only a couple hundred bucks and the saturation is poor but I previously had a hideous amethyst in this ring setting and never wore it so this is a definite improvement.

Anyone have any idea how to wear & sort of hide the plain chain?

The inspiration necklace is just awesome! I think there are a couple of options:

Separating the pendant from the chain: Get a small 'hook' very close to the center diamond of the necklace. Have a small ring made for the pendant using which you can hang the pendant on the tennis necklace

Without separating the pendant from the chain: This is a bit out there and I am thinking it is possible to create a 'frame' for the tennis necklace - much like how royals have a frame to convert a necklace to a tiara. This might raise the profile of your necklace a bit but would allow you to pass the chain through the 'frame.'

I am currently getting something similar made; it it's still in the works and a bit more eastern inspired. Will share pics once it is ready.

Wow I have no idea how I missed this!! It is GORGEOUS. I think the best way to manage is to probably get the bale of the pendant and the tennis necklace tweaked so that you can hang the pendant from the necklace (if the pendant comes off the chain). If it doesn’t, perhaps have little “loops” added to the back of the tennis necklace at intervals so you can thread the chain through at the back of the necklace, and wear them as one composite necklace.

The loops can be used to hang other pendants like pearls and such too. Creates a very versatile jewel.

In a job lot from an IG seller in Pakistan. Rather a hit or miss experience dealing with him so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it!

Do previously loved emeralds count for this thread? This is a 1.68ct Colombian Emerald I used to own. It is NOT the cleanest stone but it has color and glow in spades. Set in 18k Gold with .40ct of diamonds.

Just recieved this little pre-loved piece in the mail yesterday... how is it that emeralds are so hard to capture? These pictures look terrible compared to the real-life glow...

In fact, when DH saw this stone, he didn't believe that it could be natural--was too vibrant.

I received my ring today. I am very happy with it. The vivid green color is amazing. The picture does not do it justice.

Such a fabulous thread. Emeralds are my favourite and it feels like a new pricescope favourite too!
Here is mine, a flawed but beautiful old girl. She is Colombian, no treatment, looks much better on than off and weighs 15 carats. The setting (probably marmite but I love it) is late 50s, early 60s but the dealer seemed to think she was a much older stone. If it was practical to wear her every day I would! 354CF12B-5188-4412-87BE-17EC747E727E.jpeg

This is one of my all time Price Scope favourites. So bright and lively and green. It's good to see it again.

This is such a delicious thread. Emerald by far is my favorite CS. I enjoy it under all light settings.

I love the everything about your red ring. May I ask the karat for the gold in that ring? The stone type?

Here's a new arrival here yesterday. It is a specimen of emerald crystals in matrix from the Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan. The camera cannot do justice to the intense saturated green of these crystals, but you should get the idea. The emeralds also fluoresce a moderate red in LWUV, which is a very nice touch.

There's an article on a recent deposit (discovered 2017) from the SSEF, which are being dubbed 'Panjshir Type II' emeralds. These ones would appear to match the description.

Definitely one of the most beautiful rings I’ve ever seen on Pricescope! I love everything about it, the center stone, and it’s cut, clarity, color, butterflies, and the setting, omg, bling bling bling! It’s so Harry Winston! Enjoy!

Thank you so much for your very kind words! I'm so happy with how this project came out-- the center stone is so stunning, and my jeweler did an amazing job with the setting/halo :D
