To be honest I usually dont enjoy the more blingy necklaces (large-bright gold-diamonds galore) but there is something that is just so gorgeously elegant that makes this lovely bunch of golden grapes look oh so classy!
Its truly a stunning piece and I would never sell it as it's simultaneously a classic yet unique piece which is hard to come by.
Thank you, and yes I very much agree. DW also prefers to keep things simple, and more contemporary in design. There's just something about this piece that made us both gasp when she first put it on.

I had negotiated a price the previous day when we first saw it for sale as a brooch. When we went back the next day with a matching yellow gold chain and DW put it on as a pendant, I made the sales lady write up the sale before she took it off. DW was already drawing a crowd of admiring ladies! :D

Long time since we updated this thread. Nice to go back and look at all the beauty here, and I'm sure we've got some gorgeous pendants and necklaces we can add

Here's one of DW's favorites, a 16.92ct orange citrine pendant in an 18K fleur-de-lis setting.

A 21" green jadeite bead necklace with 6-11mm graduated beads. Not certified and the odds are it's not type A, but we only paid $200 for it. Looks pretty darned good for the money. :mrgreen2:

I have a few new pinsbrooches that I also wear as pendants when the mood strikes, lol. Also I missed my yellow diamond heart pendant the first time around.

@Catmom I was trying to figure out why you would want that gorgeous yellow heart diamond to fly. I thought maybe she wants it to be able to fly with her beautiful dragonflies and butterflies. Then it hit me what FLY stands for!:lol-2:

Your pendants are all fabulous and I particularly like the pink sapphire dragonfly. It's a relatively simple design, but so elegant, colorful, and in perfect proportion.

Here's a piece I forgot to post here, it's the pearl and emerald pendant of plenty. :)

Emerald and Pearl Necklace 1.jpg

The emerald pendant can be separated from the strand of pearls and worn with a chain.

So not fair to leave the strand of pearls on their lonesome! =)2

LOL, you remind me of my hubby! I had made him a Christmas list one year and on it I had a FLY ring. He was reading it and got this strange look on his face and burst out..."I am NOT buying you a fly ring. Why on earth would you want something like that?":lol:

Chrysoprase for the silver chain and a unheated eye clean slightly alluvial pink sapphire crystal for the gold chain. Maybe it will be cut one day.... Took me hours to drill that hole with a diamond tool under water.

Tiny 10mm peachy pink zircon faceted cab with frosted back from a Lisa Elser charity auction set in 14k RG. It is crudely set but ai wear it every day as it is small and casual.

It's a lovely pendant, and a big shout out to pieces that get worn every day! Some of DW's pendants are so fancy she only feels comfortable pulling them out on special occasions.

Love the chrysoprase and the sapphire unusual and a gorgeous pink. I'm surprised it wasn't turned into a gem the moment it came out of the ground. If you don't mind me asking, where did you find it?

Could become a very nice mismatched pair when its cut in the exact same cut as the Vanadium chryso. Just an idea as it would work well in case of proportions and same level of saturation and tone.

Thought I would share my three favorites - this one my jeweler made for me 2 years ago with some loose tourmalines I had. I love Etruscan and Greek inspired things with heavy gold. @Polyhex this is more from the “crackpot uncle”:lol:

This was a pin but I turned it into a pendant. I love the amethyst and teeny topaz:

Would love to share my custom-made pendant here! This project started with an icy jade bi (donut) which I had originally set with a simple white gold bail and planned to wear as an everyday pendant. However, there’s something I didn’t realise about wearing translucent jade, which is that it tends to blend in with your skintone, so I felt it didn’t pop.

At the same time, I had a tiny trillion violet-blue sapphire that was so sparkly and pretty but I didn’t know what to do with it. A previous attempt to buy a matching stone failed so I abandoned the ring idea. My jeweller then had the idea to put the two together and design a jade, diamond and sapphire pendant for me. The design took several tweaks but was so much fun and I love the final dragonfly design. It definitely gets attention now, and I still enjoy spinning the bi when I’m bored and by myself.

There is always a place for jadeite! It fills such a different look. Yes, you guessed it. Lavender jadeite. It was the color which really attracted me, and the energy of jade, and the fact that I Love cabs and round /oval shapes! Somehow lavender, is both soothing ( as the blue in it) and energetic and vibrant, (as the red in it.) an enigmatic color with opposites. I think a jadeite pendant would be a FABULOUS addition to your wife’s collection.

I know this is an old thread but if you dont mind can you expand on 'energy of jade' a bit? How do you mean?

I just saw this a year late lol. He was just cranky and when I bought a flawed oec gave me a hard time about it. When I told the story on PS Polyhex said that since he was talented at what he did, just go with it and think of him as your crackpot uncle lol!!

I'm not @Bluegemz in any form, but if I may, I think I may know what she meant. It's quite simple, certain objects just have an energy to them based on their color or characteristics. Gemstones especially and even sometimes they can be felt by those whom are a little more in tune or sensitive. Things also just generally have an energy to them. Jade is especially soothing and calming.

So in simpler terms, the energy of things is equal to the aura or intuitive "feel" they give one to use or gaze upon.

Just know that this is not a proper or real fine jewelry/gemstone term that is used whatsoever, but is used more so in the metaphysical or artistic communities, which tend to touch the outskirts of ours.

Gosh that is organic and gorgeous and just so unique! I would keep your pendant rough, as it's stunning!
I mean, if you're not too fond of it I could always babysit it for ya? Haha
