I would love to see those of you who wear more than 2 rings on the ring finger. I think some of us call the middle band "spacer", but some call the set "ring guard look".

What is the advantage of having a spacer and do you like it?

Thanks!

This thread contains pics of my recently purchased "spacer"band...which helps prevent the diamaonds on my 5 stone band from eating away at the cup shape head on my solitaire. I like it sometimes...other times I only wear the diamond band and solitaire. I find the spacer sometimes takes away from the beauty of my five stone band! If you are worried about damaging your ring, it's a good idea.

Thank you Beau!
That is the exactly idea I have in mind. I have a sentimental family platinum ring that I would love to wear as a spacer. Other than protecting against the rubbing of the 2 rings, I think it also helps to give the wedding band a "bigger view" instead of the "hidden view" next to my ering.

I don''t have a spacer band I just wanted to say that you ladies both have some gorgeous rings!

Hi there zhuzhu, here is a pic of my set, during the day I wear all three but when night comes I take off the channel set band, cause first thing the in am my fingers of course are bloated to smitherines. Then after they come down I slide the channel set band back on. I kinda realy like the idea. I got the spacer band idea from Beau, cause I love her set.

Thanks for the kind words ladies!
I love wearing more than 2 rings (my solitaire with 2 different bands). Here is another different look (taken when my solitaire was set in a 4 prong setting this past summer)

Oh Beau13... I absolutley LOVE your set!

Thanks, kmcq and crickett.
I love how versatile the e-ring is..as you can see I have had many different bands..and I like to mix them up to create different looks depending on my mood! LOVE stacking different bands!

Beau: Lovely set! Who makes the "spacer" ring in your set? LOVELY!

LOVE your set! I eventually want a middle band like the one you have to go with a classic eternity band. Very nice.

Here's a blurry pic of mine. To answer your questions:

1. What is the advantage?
The diamonds in my wedding band were starting to eat into the basket of my e-ring. I tend to be overly-sentimental about my e-ring and didn't want to cause any unnecessary damage, even if it was superficial, so I went on a quest for a thin, vintage (1920's) french-cut sapphire band in platinum to add to the set. I really wanted for the spacer to be meaningful (sapphire = married in September. French cut = engaged in France, etc.) and this one did the trick.

2. Do I like it?
I do, though I feel like my set is too busy. I plan to get other thin eternity bands in the future so I can mix it up a little. The spacer serves its purpose, though, and that is what is most important for me.

ETA: Zhuzhu, I really love the new baguette eternity!

The sapphire band is really lovely--how many mm is it? Have you ever considered an antique super thin engraved spacer? Could give you another option.

In any case, I think your rings are perfect in ANY combo!

Thanks, Coati, that means a lot coming from a woman who has such gorgeous rings herself! My goal is to do exactly what you have done and have a collection of many bands that I can mix and match or stack.

ETA: I forgot to answer your question, I would LOVE a thin platinum engraved spacer and have been looking around for one for several months. The trouble is that I wear an 8 and would prefer not to size one if possible...I've put the hunt on the back burner for a bit when we decided to buy an additional vehicle, but I'm hoping a bargain might pop up sometime. I WILL have one someday, it just might take a little time.

Beau: Lovely set! Who makes the ''spacer'' ring in your set? LOVELY!
Hey Snow..I don''t know who makes it. It was another lovely E-bay find (about $ 22). It''s vintage/antique, very narrow..with a pattern on sides (profile). I didn''t want to spend a whole lot..wasn''t sure if I''d like the look or not.

Right now I''m a-hunting for antique engraved super thin bands to wear with my JM reset. He made me one band, but I think it would be fun to stack some old pieces with it. Your set reminds me of Reese Witherspoon''s set from when she was married to Ryan Phillipe--I adore the look!

Here is my set. The spacer band is 2-2.5mm knife edge band. I purchased it because the diamonds in the band were eating away at my prongs. I actually like the look of just the knife edge band with my e-ring, but it is always nice to have more sparkle!

Please excuse the lifeless picture. My pear is so hard to get a good picture of inside the house with this poor lighting, but (as you can see from the snowy background) it is cold outside, and I am not going out there!

Wow, your beautiful ring sets have totally sold me on the idea of spacer band. Lucky for me I already do have 2-3 bands that I can use for that purpose. I will post pictures of these combination in a day or 2!

Thanks ladies! Love your rings!

Beautiful sets everyone! I love >2 ring sets.

I wore a 2mm spacer band between my e-ring and wedding ring for a while (attached pic), but then I tried the combo with my 5-stone anniversary ring that I used to wear as RHR (without spacer band) and really liked the look. So I have been wearing it like that for a few months now (avatar).

I have a plain 2mm spacer band and I love it. It keeps the diamonds from rubbing on the 2 rings and it makes the rings pop a bit more.

nice sets, ladies! do any of you ever feel like your circulation is slightly restricted when wearing three rings? or feel like it''s too tight or heavy (especially platinum wearers)?

Sugar, my circulation seems fine. My rings are all slightly different sizes. The top one (e-ring) is the smallest, and the bottom anniversary ring is the largest (just because it was sized to be an RHR, and worked out to be slightly larger than my wedding set).

I like the three together because I have this thing about rings being stuck over my huge knuckles--the third ring keeps everything from spinning (and protects the eternity) while at the same time I know I can get them off easily. Funny how a little extra width keeps everything still.

I wear my set like this quite often with my tiny baguette bands.

Lauren, that is such a marvelous look!

I wear mine mixed and matched all the time: I alternate the eternities with the wedding band (on days when I pair another ring with the e-ring, the wedding band goes on the right hand), and I stack them in different combinations. This is how I''ve been wearing them most recently ....

I think wearing a spacer is a very good idea plus it also looks good!
