Hello! :wavey:

I am thinking about getting a tacori 2326, and would love to see some pictures from tacori owners who have worn their rings for awhile.
I'm quite interested in seeing styles with the scalloped sides on the shank, or engraved shanks, especially full eternity patterns or diamonds.

I'd also like to see any platinum rings that have been worn for a while, especially ones with pave, milgrain, or engraving.

Before and after shots would be awesome! Any info on what maintenance you have had done would be appreciated too.

Thank you!

Hi Jane,

I've had my Tacori ring for over 2 years now and have some pictures for you:

First is right when I got engaged in 2010, second is from my wedding in 2011, and last one is June of this year. Hope this helps a bit....it looks unchanged to me.

Forgot to add that my ring is platinum!

What about Tacoris did you want to know?

I think with any rings like this, you need to treat them with TLC. That means removing them when doing any kind of work with your hands, sleeping, cooking, etc. Milgrain will wear away if it gets rubbed enough, and open crescent sides are also fragile. They are gorgeous rings but need to be cared for...although we'd really say that about all rings if you want them to stay in great condition.

Oh my Autumnovember! You ring is gorgeous! Thank you for the pics, it still looks brand new.

YayTacori,
I've always loved these intracate rings and want to know if they hold up to wear and tear. When I get one, I'll baby it, but I'm just curious to see what they look like after a few years of being worn. I'm not angling for stories of woe, I just want to see what these gorgeous rings look like after being on the finger for a while.

Signal 4, if you're out there, please post new pics of that beautiful tacori 2326 from 2005! I would love to see it!

Diamondseeker2006, you are so right. I'll baby my beautiful when she arrives. I'm just wanting some real life pictures.
Like celebrities with no makeup. :D

Can I put such a ring in the ultrasonic?

I don't know if mine helps at all since its white gold and doesn't have the scalloping in the shank but I've had mine since January of 2010, only recently did I get a diamond. And I think it looks the same as the moment I got it. I did notice tho that after 2 years, it needed a good polish since the metal had lost its shine. But as for milgrain and the diamonds in the shank, and the pave, its held up very nicely.
I do take it off for EVERYTHING tho and am VERY careful with my left hand. But thats just how I am. It has never been on my hand when I wash it, or do dishes or even pick up anything heavy. And not because I feel like it will break, but because I just wanna baby it.

Are Tacori rings cast or die struck? I assume to former.

My ring is an antique hand fabricated ring, so the metal would likely have been made/fabriacted differently than modern rings are usually made. The metal work will wear differently depending on the fabrication methos. But mine has engraving detailing on the shank that looks brande new despite being 90 years old.

Does Tacori offer refurbishment services? Thinks like engraving and milgrain can be repaired with too much difficulty by skilled metalsmiths.

Thank you for posting your ring, YayTacori, it still looks great!

Dreamer_D, I have no idea how tacoris are made or if they offer 'spa services' for worn rings. I'll have to check. Thank you for making me think of this.
I'm glad to hear your true antique is still looking so good despite its age. Do you have a recent picture of the engraving? How often do you get it checked and polished?

I'm really like the shiny new look but am unsure how to maintain this on such an intracate ring.

I also thought it would be cool to have a thread showing our rings as we see them every day, not necessarily shiny new pieces, but real rings, symbols of love worn every day.

Platinum patinas with age, it is just how it wears.

I have only had my ring a month or so. I had it refurbished when I bought it, which means replacing the previously poorly redone prongs and fixing the milgrain on the bezel, and removing a white gold resizing bar and resizing in platinum. The results are in my thread below. My ring was not polished at that time. The engraving is in perfect shape. I have read in the Van Craeynest thread that engraving and chasing done on die struck platinum, which is probably how my ring was made given the delicacy and strength, can last a lifetime because the metal is so dense. I have no idea how my platinum will wear but don't intend to polish it. I will let a patina develop. You can peruse antique stores online for examples of how engraving and milgrai nwear with age, but again, it depends on the fabrication of the metal.

I have the 2326 and I have worn it for a year..it has some patina and a few surface scratches, but it looks good. Tacori does offer refurbishment services as my ring is second hand but I think only polished during a refurb prior to sale. Either way, the ring has been around a while. One thing with this setting, if you get the scallops all the way around the band, you can't do much with this ring on..stuff gets in the edging very easily!! My sister has a tacori that she has worn for 5 years without refurb and she bent the underside of her ring, but the platinum looks great after 5 years. I love the setting, it's amazing, but it's a lot of being careful with my lifestyle.

Dreamer_D, thank you. Your ring looks beautiful. I have looked at lots of pictures of antique platinum rings online, trying to see what patina looks like. Some of them look good, some look great, a few look drab. It's hard to tell how mine is going to patina.
I've looked at tacoris in my local jewellery store, the ones they have had for a few years as demonstration pieces. They still look quite shiny (I'm sure they get polished regularly), but the milgrain has worn off in some places.
I guess I'll just have to see what happens with mine. I might take it for a yearly polish if I don't like the patina. Or maybe I will like it, who knows?

NTave, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post some pictures of your ring! And your sister's if you can swing it.
:!: :!: :!: :cheeky:  :cheeky: :!: :!: :!:

I really love that scalloped edge, but I'll spend a lot of time taking it on and off to keep it pretty.

No problem, Jane!

I am NOT careful with my ring at all...I'm really clumsy, if anything and I knock it into a lot of stuff often by accident. I do not take it off when I sleep or for anything else except showering or if I'm helping garden. I have not had a single problem :)

Autumnovember, that is sooooo good to hear! Great! Especially since you have the full eternity.

Last year I met a Craigslist seller trying to sell the platinum Tacori e-ring setting and wedding band from his ex wife. They were scallop sided with engraving on the tops all the way around. And man did they look worn! The lady must have never taken them off. The engraving was worn down, they were slightly out of round, and had a very dull look from the patina. It's possible for any ring to look like that though, depends on how you year them.

Eeek! That sounds awful MustangGal. She probably just wore them for everything.

Jane, I tried taking pics with my iPhone, but I couldn't get a macro image that would show that patina and scratches..it was just too blurry. For a year of my use, I think it looks great, no issues with migraine wear down, and it's worn on both my ring fingers interchangeably due to work. Its a beautiful ring and as long as you baby it I think you will love the setting.
