Please share a song that lifts your mood just listening to it.

I saw this band on my first date with my husband. This song has a good beat and its about a "good feeling"... win-win

Who's not an "average every day sane psycho super goddess?"

I have a few, however, Barry White's My First, My Last, My Everything is probably the one I like best.

I just want to dance the moment I hear the first few notes.

DK :))

What a great thread!

My favorite is "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver. It makes me think of long sunny days in the West, fields of golden hay, and less complicated times. When I listen to it, I can practically smell the grass and hear the buzz of crickets at the end of a long summer's day.

Jambalaya - is that really you? Glad to hear from you.

This changes for me by the week, but lately it has been Pharrell's "Happy" and Coldplay's "Something Just Like This."

I always loved the duets of the sisters Joan Baez and Mimi Farina. At Sing Sing Prison Joan sings "I Shall Be Released" and then the sisters sing ""Viva Mi Patria Bolivia" together.

Thanks, Queenie! That's nice of you. I haven't posted much lately because life has been busy, but I have lurked. And it's bad of me not to post because I have two new Kiki McDonough pieces! I have the Grace pink amethyst heart necklace in white gold, and the Grace heart studs in blue topaz and white gold. If I ever stop feeling tired from night duties, I'll post them. Sorry for the threadjack! :wavey:

*waves to my old friend Lorelei* :wavey:

:lol::lol: Oh Deb, I needed that.
Good to "see" you my dear. :appl:

Thank you for the kind words. We'll see how it goes. ;)2

And 2 more:

Maniac from Flashdance
And
Walking on sunshine from Katrina and the waves

I love music from New Orleans, authentic Cajun music derived from the French who just arrived from Canada and also more modern Cajun music. I am mad about The Neville Brothers. This compilation has some of my favorite pieces by them in it. I don't think it gets more upbeat than this.

ANd I only listed one Gene Pitney song. How about:
The Man Who Short Liberty Valence
Mecca
Half Heaven Half Heartache

Roy Orbison
Crying

Bobby Vee
Take good care of my baby

Cascades
Rhythm of the falling rain

Nat king Cole
Mona Lisa

This is all stuff my parents listened to. You couldn’t beat these tunes outta me.

And all The Bee Gees stuff
Spicks and Specks
The early days stuff ya know. New York mining disaster. First of May.

My favorite Beatles song is When I’m 64.

And I LOVE Singer Songwriters. I am proud to say I love Neil Diamond and I don’t care how cheesy that is, and Fleetwood Mac. All of it.

What else is on your list?

I love most of your selections!

The Platters

Haha you might remember this-one of our wedding band members was an original platter. Don't ask me who I don't remember. Haha I guess I *am* that old.:P2

My favorite Beatles song is When I’m 64.

and that song was our cutting the wedding cake song.:appl:

In those days 64 was old.

Great musical selections everyone...Loving them. Please keep the songs coming.:appl:

So many songs are uplifting for me. Here is a hodgepodge of a few, in no particular order:

Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell
Holly Holy - Neil Diamond
Heaven - Bryan Adams
Sounds of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel
Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams
House of the Rising Sun - The Animals
The Gambler - Kenny Rogers

Jupiter from The Planets by Gustav Holst
Finlandia - Sibelius
Beethoven's 7th Symphony

And one of the best ones for lifting my mood is
Bergamasca from Ancient Airs and Dances by Respighi.

Cat Stevens- If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out

This is a bit newer- but oh so nice and stress relieving ( for me)

Me too!!
I had the amazing great luck of playing in a band with Charles Neville. Sadly we lost Charles a few weeks back.

‘Let the Day Begin’ by The Call. This song always puts some pep in my step. Also like ‘Laid’ by James. I love to sing along with thIs one.

My dad is Cajun, so I grew up on Cajun music and Zydeco. That’s my go-to music whenever I need a lift or just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Oh gosh, and the old Hank Williams tune “Jambalaya,” although I like a George Jones’ cover of it the best. That one takes me back to my childhood immediately!

I’ve seen Aaron Neville perform live too many times to count now. I love him so much! My dad plays his Christmas songs every year on Christmas Day, so I feel like he’s part of the family!!

HI:

Feist. her voice. She can and does sing anything, Makes me feel GOOD.

cheers--Sharon
