Please share a song that lifts your mood just listening to it.

I love The Eagles.
. I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert in 1976 along with Linda Ronstadt. If they come in town again I would definitely go see them again.

There was a free concert at The City College of New York in 1974
I was a student at the High School of Music and Art at the time- which was located on the City College campus.
Two relatively unknown bands ( at the time).
The Eagles
and
Earth Wind and Fire.....

Also cool- for those Eagles lovers out there.
Timothy B Schmit was the bass player for a group called Poco before he joined the Eagles.
Amazing high voice......I can't Tell you why.......

Poco was my favorite group for years- why I learned to play Pedal Steel Guitar.....

Any time I need a lift I listen to a version of Hallelujah.

This is my current favorite, John Pollard shared it with me.

.

I don't know if you listen to it, but there is a holiday music thread on Pricescope every year, Wink. In December. Many of the songs are repeated every year although we try to introduce new ones yearly, too. Songs sung by The Pentatonix absolutely make that thread! Thank you for sharing "Hallelujah" here. Just beautiful! (And John Pollard...he is the music man! Didn't he teach band before becoming a jeweler?)

This has always been one of my favorites: "The Israelites". I loved it before I knew what reggae was. Later in life I went on to love reggae. It is from 1968 by the Jamaican Desmond Dekker and The Aces.

HI:

KD Lang.

To lift your mood--here is a silly interview.

Her song Constant Craving always gives me pleasure. I just love it.

Her rendition of "Cohen's Halleluiah", is well, memorable.

But of "Young's, Helpless" I cannot explain how moving and helpful this rendition was for me.

cheers--Sharon

Long have I loved this song.

I think David (Rockdiamond) will like this one if nobody else does. It is Doug Kershaw's rendering of "Battle of New Orleans".

Once this song was in my mind I had to hear it

KD Lang wins the eye clean crushed ice arguments here. LOL. All good bro.:mrgreen2:

But of course, Southern Cross. No dispute (on any grounds).

I had never heard her sing it, Sharon. I had to provide a link to it since you did not. It is wonderful. Perhaps the best rendition I have heard.

I was lucky enough to see KD Lang at the Beacon Theater in NYC in February- amazing show. So no argument here:)

He did Deb and he's a skilled percussionist if I remember rightly.

I bet this is up your alley David.

I don't know why but this haunting song (and rendition) just elevates my mood. Powerful and moving. And for me somehow uplifting.:sun:

This one is personal. A dear male friend of mine said it reminded him of me. We were at a bar and he played it on the juke box, I had never heard it, though I loved Willie. This was right after an extremely tragic episode in my life almost 4 decades ago, where I experienced two very close deaths. He took me under his wing for a bit to help me through it. Sadly, he passed away many years ago. I always think of him when I hear it. Miss him...

Willie Nelson

This makes me smile so big and think of my sweet husband. I played this at our wedding when we were cutting into our chocolate cake!
