Yes! I love Bruddah Iz.! What a voice. RIP

Dance music puts me in a good mood so i have a whole playlist handy. First one that came to mind is No More Drama in My Life by Mary J Blige. Always gets me going.

This one.

The oldies are the best for sheer happy-making ability as far as I’m concerned!

Walking on sunshine - Katrina and the Waves, and Let Your Love Flow, the Bellamy Brothers, for just downright happy.

I Need a Hero - Bonnie Tyler, ups my energy levels no end.

It’s a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong, for mellow/contented happy

King of Rock and Roll - Prefab Sprout, reminds me of being young!

I wanna dance with somebody - Whitney Houston cheers me up always! I like also dance music to lift my mood.

Madonna - La Isla Bonita

Or maybe something from Frank Sinatra.

Lovely Day by Bill Withers is uplifting to me. Lyrically it’s a really sweet love song too.

Pretty much any fast Bruno Mars’ or Pink song :mrgreen2:. Also “Baby I’m a Star” by Prince

So, not necessarily mood lifters, but groove lifters :lol-2:

Fitz & the Tantrums - Hand Clap
Blur - Song 2
Outkast - Hey Ya

w/o a doubt...

and this.

Hand clap-Fitz and the Tantrums. It’s my ring tone for my husband. That man does make my hands clap.

My favorite songs are not the most upbeat songs. They tend to be evocative ones like "Baker Street". These two are among favorites that definitely lift my spirits, however.

"Happiness Runs" by Donovan...
"Great Day"...by Suzanne McDermott...

("The Roswell Incident" happens to be among my favorite songs. It may not be "spirit lifting", but it always haunted me. It plays right after "Great Day".)

Deb :))

Edited to add link to "The Roswell Incident" since I mentioned it. It's cool.

Ooh Child by The Five Stairsteps
The Best is Yet to Come by Sinatra
Party Rock by LMFAO
Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz

I adore the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole version of Over the Rainbow, but for me it makes me peaceful.

This raises my soul from the dumps.

This Aussie rock hit by a trio from Brisbane called The Chats always makes me smile. It's called Smoko and for context smoko is the first morning tea break most tradesman take around 9.30-10am. It's called smoko regardless of whether they smoke or not

OMG, Funny! I'm usin' that!
Thanks Jordy, for educating me on all these cool Aussie terms!

Well, almost any older Motown tune, really.

Ain't That Peculiar, by Marvin Gaye. Love that one.

ANYTHING by The Rascals. All of them. Any of their songs.

Groovin'. A Beautiful Morning. Good Lovin'.

And my new acquired taste The Gummy Bear Song lol Can't help myself but giggle and smile and yes be silly and dance with my grand daughters 2 & 3 year olds when they come over and ask for gummy bear

I Wish - Stevie Wonder

Girls and Boys - Prince

Carry On - Crosby Stills Nash and Young

giggle I love the opening "song" to "three's company" . . . . "come and knock on our door . .. . "

and for some reason "The gambler" by Kenny Rogers has been stuck in my head.

oooh! and ditto! "Over the Rainbow" Israel Ka'ano'i Kamakawiwo'Ole
