to make a decision. I got a 1ct. GIA cert. emerald cut diamond that I''ve purchased from diamond.com. I''m about to
go to GIA and verify the stone. GIA charges $90 an independent apraisal charges $40. Wih whom should I go???

A qualified appraiser should be able to compare the stone to the cert and tell you yes or no if the stone matches. It already has a cert; I don't see the point of wasting $50 to bring it back to GIA.
