I have a gorgeous 1.234 carat round engagement ring I got in 2006 (from Whiteflash). My wedding set (both the e-ring and the wedding band) has shared-prong diamonds 3/4 of the way around (from Signed Pieces). At the time I got engaged I wanted something with a sparkly setting, but 4 yrs later with two kids it appeals to me to have a very simple, thin, plain band so my center stone stands out more. My husband is cool with me getting an upgrade to a 2+ carat center stone, but it won't be until our 10 yr anniversary or so. Anyway, I'm looking for such a new setting for my engagement ring for the time being.

I don't have a preference for 6 or 4 prongs, but I would like then to be graceful, maybe something like the Excel Diamonds Tiffany-knockoff or a gorgeous basket setting. Also, I'd like to pay under 1K. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks SO much!!

Those are all really pretty! I guess I'm hestitant to purchase a setting I've never tried on. Are there any chain-type stores that have similar settings? Or are most of those unique to WF? We live in the Chicago area. Thanks!!

The sleek line legato is pretty similar to a Hearts on Fire setting that I can't put my finger on right now. There are lots of HOF dealers in Chicago...
