PLEASE HELP WITH THIS DIAMOND; TIME OF THE ESSENCE FOR RETURN WINDOW

Looks good as long as you are ok with the inclusion.

I will be as long as I can’t see it, or anyone else! Is it a risk? So hard to tell. That’s probably why the price is so good.

Thank you! I’m leaning toward the G. I was told the F has more light scattering and @flyingpig knows his stuff and I trust his judgement. He also likes your I VS1 best, and I agree with him on that. It’s a pretty diamond.

I have never heard of StoneAglo’s free cut check.

Hi which diamond did you end up keeping @Heidibrooke ?

The G, and I don’t 100% know if it was the right decision. I don’t regret returning the F, but I just wish I felt more secure in my decision. I felt so rushed. I will probably just have to stay away from here so I don’t see the super ideals, lol.

Have you made a decision yet?

I still have mine original diamond as well. I have another on hold, but it’s quite a bit more money ($800) for the same size, color and only a upgrade in clarity (from VS1 to Vvs1). I’m soooo torn. I’m not sure how long JA will hold it for me! I was supposed to decide yesterday but never did. I just checked and it’s still on hold. My fiancé thinks I’m nuts and can’t understand my dilemma.

I do think your G is beautiful, though.

The G you decided on is beautiful. Can you post more pics?

Thank you! I totally understand. It’s SO hard to decide. Honestly, your current diamond is beautiful. I don’t see any reason to pay $800 more for something you can’t see. That’s just my personal opinion though. You may need “mind clean”, and that’s totally fine. My oval diamond is IF clarity and while it’s stunning, it doesn’t look one bit better than my round SI1. I cannot see the inclusions in the round. I didn’t purchase the IF oval specifically because of its clarity. I just loved its facets and lack of a bow tie.
Is there something else you love about the one you have on hold? Maybe it’s worth buying to compare? I seriously thought buying an oval was hard but I have learned that buying a round is just as difficult, at least for me, lol.

The only reason I was going to exchange was due to the whole 35/40.8 angles issue. Just don’t know how much difference I’d see. Maybe I’m just making myself crazy over it! The $800 extra would bother me if didn’t see much difference. I hope you are happy with your stone. I really love it and the setting, too.

Thanks so much! About midway through this thread, I shared a ton more photos:

Thanks! I think you might need to see them side by side. I about drove my family crazy. I have 3 teens and a 6 year old and I bugged everyone to look at them with me in different lighting and they all said the 35/40.8 and 34.5/40.8 looked exactly the same to them. I took them to restaurants, shopping, etc. I took so many photos and videos, trying to find the differences. Lol. At the end of the day, I couldn’t see a difference. Did you see the post on here of someone asking for opinions on their 35/40.8? It’s stunning! Also, I see ACAs from WF that are 35/40.8, so I do believe there are great diamonds out there with these angles.

Hi @laken70, just curious on what you decided? The current diamond looks beautiful. For myself, I tend to stay with VS1 or better especially with larger stone but that’s just a personal preference. I’m in a slightly different predicament right now where for me to stay within my budget I have to either get a smaller stone or go down a color grade. Good luck with yours!

@Fabfashion, although I’m still in my window of time to return my current ring, I’m leaning towards keeping it. It’s really a pretty diamond. I own a retail shop and ring lots of people out. So many people have noticed it and complimented how gorgeous it is. Plus my fiancé can’t understand why I’d send it back. Even though I chose the diamond myself, he thinks it’s an amazing diamond, too.

I do have another on hold but it’s $800 more, for only a clarity upgrade. What size and color are you looking for?

IMHO I’m not sure if you’ll be able to see a huge difference with a clarity upgrade esp. if your stone is eye clean and sparkly, and it does look very sparkly and pretty from pics. My ering and 10th anniversary ring are both VS1 and I haven’t been able to tell that there are any less inclusion with my untrained eyes as they look very brilliant to me. As long as you love your ring, why pay more? For myself, I may pay a little more if I was getting a better color or a larger stone of the same clarity. For the ring I’m considering for my upcoming anniversary, one has a .76 round diamond H VVS2 center. I’d have liked a 1 carat G color and would be okay with VS 1-2 but the price difference is huge—about 50% more. I’m not prepared to pay that much more for it. The setting is a swirl design so the center stone doesn’t have to be big but I don’t know if .76 will be too small. I’m waiting for both rings to come in at the store so I can try them on in person. Fingers crossed.

Let us know what you decide with yours.

Thank you for your input @Fabfashion. I really appreciate it. I’ve decided that I’m going to keep my current ring. It’s super sparkly and I’m not sure I could do much better in my price range.

I hope you find something you love. Sounds like you have a couple of great options. Please post them when you can so I can see. I’m sure whatever you choose will be stunning.

I decided to keep my diamond. I think it’s too pretty of a diamond to give up! Thanks for all your input and encouraging words!

I’m excited for you! It’s truly a gorgeous diamond and looks so pretty on your hand. I think it’s a good sign that people are complimenting you on it. It has to be pretty sparkly to be catching their eyes. So funny, we both chose the one we first fell in love with, lol. Congrats on your decision!
