Hi, I am considering purchasing some 1/2 carat (total weight) H&A studs from good old gold, but i'm not sure about the clarity on them. They are si-2/i-1 and the salesperson (who has been very nice and helpful) told me that no one would be able to see the inclusions from my ears, but if I held them about 6 inches from my face and knew where the inclusions were, I'd be able to see them. They are really the only studs of this size and cut quality I've found in my price range (I'd like to stay under $900 and purchase from a vendor with an upgrade policy). I just can't decide if these inclusions will bother me. I'm obviously not looking for "mind clean" studs, but I guess what I'm asking is, would you buy these? Thanks so much in advance!

ETA: I should probably clarify that she said that one stud's inclusion is white and the other's is black (the black one is really the one that concerns me I guess)

I don''t think you''re truly going to know how you feel til you bring them home and see them.

Thanks, Ellen. Yeah, I think you''re right. Thank goodness for 30 day return policies!

Yes, with the return policy, and the vendor you''re working with, you should have no problems if you need to return them. But I hope you don''t! Let us know, ok?

Sounds like a great way to get a good size pair of studs within budget form a great vendor! Go for it, and if you get them home and are not pleased then you can return them. If I''m every lucky enough to replace my studs (......poorly cut princess studs from BN.......so no upgrade policy.......) I will seek out lower clarity, I''m all about size and cut and clarity is my last concern as long as they look nice and are a great cut I''d be all over it!

Thanks for the encouragement, Jenn! I too have a pair of poorly cut princess studs (from a mall store, before I knew better

), so no matter what, these will definitely be an improvement! I did order them and should have them tomorrow, so I''ll let you guys know!
Thanks again!

Unless your doctor is getting close to use an otoscope to look inside your ears, hopefully no one will be getting that close to your ears/earrings! People don''t tend to scrutinize studs nearly as closely as erings. I say go for it! It won''t hurt to check them out!

Please update us as soon as you get them! I''ve been considering this clarity in GOG studs as well and am anxious to get your feedback!

Lily1 - did you get them? How do they look?...

Oh, I''m sorry, Bem, I meant to update you on this! I accidentally had them sent to my billing address instead of my shipping address, so now I won''t have them until Monday

. I will definitely post pictures ASAP after I get them!

Ditto! I''m interested to know how you like them as well!

Hey, guys! Sorry I didn''t get a chance to update yesterday, but I got the studs and I LOVE them! I can see the black inclusion in one through the loupe and H&A viewer pretty easily, but i have yet to see the white one (haven''t looked that hard, though, I figure there''s no reason to freak myself out over something I have that much trouble seeing) and can''t see them with my eyes at all! I think it definitely has something to do with the fact that they are so small (.25 each), but I definitely think I1''s are worth checking out if you are trying to maximize color, cut, and size and/or you are on a budget, like me! I can''t upload pictures right now, but I promise I will do it as soon as I get home tonight!

P.S. thank you all for being so helpful and encouraging

Yay! I''m so glad they worked out. Gotta love a beautiful bargain.

Congrats!

Okay, I''m back with pictures! After looking at the stone with the dark inclusion more carefully, I definitely see that it is visible to the eye, but it''s defintely not noticable when it''s in my ear or when I''m not intently staring at it, so I''m still very happy with them. Anyway, on with the pictures! This first one is an earshot:
okay, I don''t think this is going to work, but I''ll try again on a different post.

another attempt at the earshot:

Yay, it worked! Okay, here''s another one (I''ll try to make it bigger this time):

Okay, the next ones are just the earrings, but they aren''t that great because the sun decided to hide behind the tree right when I got my camera out, but they serve the purpose here.

The last picture was of the stone with the dark inclusion and, as you can see, it''s pretty noticeable at that close range. Here is the other one. For some reason it was a lot harder for me to capture the arrows in it.

*Bump* because I know Bem wanted to see this!

Thanks for the bump - I was wondering about you and your studs today and for some reason your earlier posts missed me!

That''s great that you are impressed by them. I think I''ll pull the trigger on mine tomorrow.

ooohhh lily I love them! This is not helping my overwhelming desire for some .50ctw studs

They are lovely, wear them in good health!

Thanks, Miscka, I love them too!

Bem, I hope you start a thread on yours when you get them, they sound great!
