I’ve been reading your posts, guys, and found many experts here. Would you please help me to find a diamond (budget ~ 7,000?)

If this is realistic, here is my criteria:

Round brilliant
At least 1.2-1.3
VS2-SI1 (Will go down to an SI2 as long as it’s eye-clean)
Not color sensitive, (H, I color)
Cut is most important, either GIA 3 excellent
The setting is a cushion shaped halo for a round stone.

If you like the look of a halo could be a great way to get more visual size for less money than upping in carat to get the same dimensions.

Thank you for your help.

What diamond look better? And what should i ask from vendor, some image?

Amys Bling, did you mean i should go for bigger diamond and less quality?

Sorry If i misunderstood.

No- I meant that setting in a halo would give more overall visual size if that is a concern of yous..

Out of these I would ask for ASET and IDEALSCOPE for 1 and 2 and confirm if they are eyeclean. But all could be great performers.

for rounds you only need an idealscope image. JA will evaluate up to 3 diamonds.

Does anybody know why there's not report ## on GIA report on James Allen diamonds. They provide GIA report without #. How can i verify that it's identical report on this diamond.

Example:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1469119.asp

They have probably stopped putting a report number so people won't try to source their diamonds through other vendors. But you don't need to worry about verifying that the report is valid. James Allen is very reputable.

Just FYI, one thing to always compare is the diameter of stones because some will face up larger than others.

Thank you diamondseeker2006. Please explain what is " face up". Sorry for probably stupid questions, but i am new to that.

Not DS but...by face up she is talking about the diameter of the stone. Sometimes a stone can be a higher carat but face
up smaller due to depth/girdle etc. If you are comparing two stones and they are both well cut you would want to compare
face up size to see which one is larger. Not stupid question. All questions good.

Tyty, thank you. So larger face up is better. Right?
