I'm getting a new ring but due to unfortunate circumstances- my 1.8ct halo set natural cushion diamond engagement ring was stolen from my home. I can't justify spending the same amount on a new ring so I've decided to get a lab diamond and go bigger than my original.
I love the cushion shape and found a diamond that's a very similar cut to my original stone, it looks very well cut for light perfomance- I'm not a fan of crushed ice cushions. On the other hand, I don't mind getting a different shape than I previously had and the oval shape really appeals to me. My worry is too much light leakage, bowtie, and not looking sparkly. I did a lot of research for my 1st cushion diamond so I know what I like and what to look for, but ovals are new to me.
Please help me judge this oval and decide between these two diamonds. Does the oval look like it has good light performance? I will getting a solitaire setting with around 1.8mm-2.0mm wide shank with pave. I want the diamond to stand out on its own. The cushion is around 2k and the oval is 2500, not a big difference in cost.
