I'm finally upgrading my e-ring and I'm so grateful and excited to be going with Whiteflash! They're amazing and I look forward to many years *knock on wood* of upgrades!

I have a budget of $17k and have my eye on this. What do you think? I can always upgrade to a higher color if I find the J too tinted. I think it's a good price for a 2 carat ACA:

I love this choice ! Gives you huge size, and I've seen lots of great J ACAs that face up pretty white. And you can always exchange if you find J too tinted. I say go for it!

The smaller one looks more white based on the photos. I'd probs have WF take photos of both diamonds side-by-side. I'm a go big or go home kind of girl. I literally spent every dollar of the budget I was given to GO BIG, lol. They're both gorgeous!

Hi @HappyNewLife! I'm FINALLY upgrading and FINALLY going with WF!

I'm so exciteedd!

It's between these two:

2.025 J SI1 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4067968.htm
2.364 K VS2 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4109162.htm

The whiter the better for me but I think I would have a lot of fun with the K! Plus since it's WF, I can always upgrade color if I find it too tinted.

Now how do I set this thing (solitaire) to make it look as white as possible? Yellow or rose gold prongs? Full white metal?

Or should I stick with the J? Not as much of a visual difference coming from a 1.6 tho. :knockout:

Would you be ok being bothered by the tint for a couple years? Or would you need to upgrade color as soon as you saw it?

The size is where I want to be and I was hoping to upgrade by the holidays to a higher color. I haven't seen a K in person. I currently have a GIA XXX H.

I think as long as you have an upgrade plan, I like that diamond.

I have a rose gold (plat head) and white gold (plat head) knife edge settings. What kind of setting do you think would make it look more white? Colored prongs?

Nice stone!. If you don't mind the K color go for it!.
Thanks! I don't know how I feel about the color as I haven't inspected a K before. I do have a diamond cluster flower pendant from my grandma with warmer stones...the K with a rose gold setting might give off a more intentional, antique look.

Hi @TweetyBird23 nice to see you back! Exciting that you're getting your opportunity to upgrade! :appl:Although I realize that you do intend to upgrade for size/color/clarity down the line, I would caution you to maybe look at some lower color stones first. I personally believe AGS is slightly softer on color grading and the difference between your current GIA H and an AGS J or K will be very noticeable. I wouldn't be comfortable with a K for a ring because as you get down to the lower colors, the range within the same color grade can vary greatly. Also, someone very recently posted about some WF diamonds in the lower color ranges having more of a brown/champagne undertone - that wouldn't be acceptable to me as those are discounted in the open market for being less desirable. Some find their appearance lovely, others think they make a stone look darker. Here's the thread for you to read and decide: https://www.pricescope.com/communit...e-with-great-colour-perception-2-acas.247344/

While the size might not be a huge difference at first, I'd rather go with the J or preferably an I if possible and upgrade the size down the line than have the tinge bother me constantly.

Hi @ac117! It's good to see you again and, yes, it's finally happening! :)

Thanks for giving a heads up about the color. I certainly don't want to be bothered by the tinge every time I look at the ring. I'm waiting for WF to compare the 2 carat J and 2.3 K together.

Some I options:

Expert Select 2.003 I SI https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2936493.htm
ACA 2.116 I SI1 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4063387.htm
ACA 2.065 I SI1https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4066981.htm

Yes and with shipping, insurance and resetting costs, I don't want to upgrade too frequently.

I would ask them to throw these 2 in the mix for the comparison:

Keep in mind that they will provide pics flooded with white light which is just not the best representation of what you'll see on an everyday basis. There's nothing wrong with the pics they provide, I just think it's super hard to judge accurately unless you've seen the colors for yourself.

Okay, thanks. I asked WF to compare the J, K and the 2 I's you mentioned.

My vote is for the I colored diamonds. I particularly like the 2.065 I SI1 - it’s a beautiful stone.

I have had H, I, J & K color diamonds (plus some E/F in bands), I would absolutely recommend that you stick to an I especially if AGS and in the 2ct range. Coming from an H, you will likely notice the color in an I as well, but it won’t be nearly as noticeable compared to J/K.

I'm also hoping the super ideal cut helps mask the warmth.

Your existing stone is very well cut and while you might be able to see some slight improvement in performance, the color will be visible in the pavilion.
Btw I have an 2.1 I color super ideal.

I love the color (or lack thereof) of my H stone.

I just don't know which one to choose. My lovely WF rep says there isn't much of a difference between the J and K and the price jump on the smaller I might not necessarily be worth it. She recommends the K for size and value.

Here's the I, J and K.

Thoughts?

All look great on video. Wow tough choice. I had an I premium select then went bigger with J expert selection that barely missed ACA. I realized then that I am color sensitive as I can see the warmth and it started to bother me so I went with an H ACA same size as my J with a substantial price jump. Is it worth the price jump? I think so. I love my H ACA that I still get mesmerized by it and often stare at it hahhaa. Once I have the budget though I think I’d like to upgrade once more with a higher color although I am quite happy with my H for now. It faces very white.

If you are not color sensitive then I would say go for the biggest!!! Good luck with your choice. Can’t go wrong with WF.

Resetting costs maybe ... but what shipping and insurance costs? I wasn’t subject to either when upgrading ....

That’s good to know! Was your upgrade recent?
