thanks garry, so are you saying this is not one of those cases where I should rule out the diamond because it is not between the range of 0-2? I was previously reading on the forums about trying to stick to a 1.0 or close to it...

Idealscope images trump the HCA score.

HCA is an elimination tool designed to help you save time by focusing on stones that have a greater probability of being good performers. It is not a selection tool. There are diamonds in every score range that will be very nice stones, it is just that as the score goes up, the odds of finding the good ones goes down.

In this case you have a diamond whose score says it had a lesser chance of being good, but the IS image shows good performance, so you have beaten the odds. Go forth and be happy!
