Hello,

My budget is total of $10K. I''ve budgeted about $8500 for the rock and $1500 for the setting. The setting just needs to be pave with a width of 3mm. I''ve been searching for the right stone and I''ve come up with this one.

1.28 E VS2 59.6% 57% GIA thn vs vg vg mb 7.08*7.11*4.23

Crown Angle: 32.0
Pavillion Angle: 41.0

GIA CUT GRADE IS: Very Good
HCA GRADE IS: 0.7 ex, ex, ex, ex (if I''m doing it right)

WF is offering it to me for $8,700. They saiid that the cut is not as good as HCA makes it out to be. Waht do you guys think...yeah or nay???

Please feel free to post other diamonds that you may know of.

I''m with DS on this one. If cut is your priority, and WF says the diamond doesn''t live up to its billing, then I would keep looking.

Agreed...whether or not you decide to use their in house stock...since you''re getting value added input from their advice, having brought it in (right?), I think you should use it.

Consider this one?

Though found on the search by cut db, not sure if it is seen or will have been seen by Jim at JA, but it is AGS0, and has been rated positively for light performance already.

Well, if WF is telling you the cut isn''t all that great, that should tell you something. If you search on thier site, stick with stones that are in-house. You can tell if they are because the page will say something like ''in-stock, ready to ship''. Stick with GIA Excellent or AGS0. You can do a search above under the ''Prices'' tab. (Search in-house only)

No reason to get a less than stellar stone with your budget! Both of these would be gorgeous, but you''ll get a slightly bigger stone from GOG, so that would be my pick.

Thanks so much for your words of wisdom. I was jsut hoping to save a couple of bucks on one of those stones that any jeweler can get.

One more thing I forgot to mention...I am kind of a color freak. I am ones of those who can tell the difference (of course only if they ar enext to each other). I really wanted a D-F colr, but the G color for WF sounds interesting. I really wanted to be in the 1.20 carat range, but I guess somethings gotta give. Thanks for your suggestions and please keep them coming.
