Ok so i'm a total newbie about diamonds and about to make a purchase for my fiance. i need some information. For now here are my questions.

1. How will inclusions affect a diamonds performance or how it will affect a diamond in general, talking about Fire, Brilliance and Sparkle.
2. How will Color affect a diamonds performance or how it will affect a diamond in general, again still talking about Fire, Brilliance and Sparkle.
3. Just how Yellow to the naked eye and or a scope is a J colored diamond that is evaluated by GIA?
4. I read about a diamonds durability, i didn't know that would be an issue with diamonds until i read about it, tell me about this please.

Here is a diamond that i'm considering on buying. .93ct, J, VS1. Polish: Excellent, Symmetry: Excellent. Flour: none, Clarity Characteristics: Crystal, Pinpoint.
Please tell me what your general opinion about this diamond is.

I'll take a shot at your questions, but I need to know more about the stone you are looking at. GIA Excellent is an incredibly broad category, meaning some are excellent and some are not. So we narrow those down to the really good ones. Tell me...

VS1 is extremely clean and there are zero concerns about inclusions in terms of light return, durability, or anything else.

2. How will Color affect a diamonds performance or how it will affect a diamond in general, again still talking about Fire, Brilliance and Sparkle.

Color has zero affect on those aspects. Cut is the key to those.

3. Just how Yellow to the naked eye and or a scope is a J colored diamond that is evaluated by GIA?

It's not going to face up yellow at all. It's just not bright white. I personally prefer I color or higher, but if the stone is set in a yellow or rose gold setting (with white metal prongs), the J would be fine. Many do set Js in all platinum or white gold, though. A well cut J will usually look better than a poorly cut one.

Any diamond can be whacked just the right way and hard enough to make it crack or shatter. This is rare but it did happen to my mother so I know it is possible. For this reason, we recommend jewelry insurance in the event covering the replacement yourself would not be desirable.
I recommend Touchstone Insurance (click consumers):
