Last week I bought a sofa and loveseat (my dogs like loveseats) at The Dump (some of you may be familiar with The Dump). I went in wanting to replace a recliner I bought last year at Macy's that did not turn out to be a comfortable seat for me to watch TV and to read.
While sitting in power recliners and talking about comfortable furniture with the salesman, he said the most comfortable sofa in the store was in the next row over and it wasn't selling because of its color.
My interest was piqued so i went over to it and it was a pretty kind of light yellow/hint of green color and it matched a color in my rug pattern perfectly. And it was amazingly comfortable, it had everything I wanted (reclining), memory foam, all leather, made in the US. We struck a price and I was then surprised to find out the matching loveseat was included in the price I thought was just the sofa.
So I bought it. Supposed to be delivered last Sunday.
Sunday came and went. No delivery. Called them, mistake on their part, would deliver on Friday.
So this morning I get a call from the furniture tech. He said they were loading the sofa on the delivery truck and they scuffed it and put a hole in it. He was repairing it. It was going to be delivered late because of the repair. So of course I said I didn't want it and also without the sofa, don't want the loveseat either. I appreciated the honesty (assuming this was what really happened) because although I was disappointed, I don't want damaged goods either. The business office will be calling to settle this up.
So I'm back to wanting to replace my recliner.
What brands recliners do you guys have and do you love them/hate them? How can I avoid another mistake? (The consignment store near me will take the recliner I have off my hands and give me $400 for it.)
I'd like leather (have two Westies) and I'm thinking I liked the power reclining aspect of it so would want that too.
Who has a good brand they love for a recliner?
Thank you for helping with this. Furniture is stressful for me
