Ok, so here's a question. What size do you need to be to get away without wearing a bra (even if it's just at home)? I must put on a bra when I get up in the morning or I'm uncomfortable. They does make my back hurt ... they're just uncomfortable! And I think they look really droopy and weird (and I'm only 25 and haven't had kids yet)

So what's the cut off size? Do those of you with Bs go bra-less? What about Cs?

ETA: I so knew DF was gonna find this thread and ask for pictures

This thread is fascinating. I really hope I never get bigger, but I have seen what the really big disproportionate ones do a woman''s back and shoulders. Ouch!

I wonder if a butt reduction is considered insurance-worthy? Hmmm!

I'm a B... I can't go braless unless the shirt is tight. A tight enough halter or something similar can hold them up just fine.

I just have nerp-paranoia. I dont like "the ladies" poking out.

ETA: At home I go braless no problem.

I can''t run on a treadmill or pavement either. Running in general is bad. And I''ve gotten the ''they''ll knock you out if you''re not careful!'' joke.
20.gif

When I was younger I was a size 2/3 with DDs, and it was just awful finding size 12-13 dresses and getting them altered.

I would seriously look into it if I were you.
We were leaving a bar in Georgetown and had to run to catch the bus that was about to pull away. I had on a somewhat low cut shirt, but nothing scandelous. As I was running, some idiot yelled out "Hey, Girls Gone Wild is that way!"

Elle, I''m so jealous! Though I totally agree with the nip-paranoia. You''ll have to invest in some of those little flower petal things

Mine are only a D, but they often seem big to me and I wish they were smaller. I won''t be getting a reduction any time soon, but I may get a lift after pregnancy because I imagine they''ll be even more annoying then.

I have a friend who went from a B to like a DD or E and she loves them and wears tops that are waaayyy too revealing. Like they say, when you''re born with big ones you spend your whole life hiding them. When you pay for big ones, you want to show them off. (I''m embarrassed to say that I got that from Jill on Real Housewives of NYC

)

Oh I hear you there! I have an unnatural attraction to hoodies because of that.

Me too! And to boot-cut jeans, because the flare at the bottom sort of evens out the large chest so I don''t look so top-heavy.

HAHAHHAHAHHAHAH! That is AWESOME, Elle! I hate it, too. K loves to point it out, too...drives me up the wall.

Actually, total threadjack and maybe this is totally TMI, but does anyone else not like having their "nerp"s touched? I feel like they''re too sensitive and I HATE having them played with. Just not a turn on at all.

Maybe that''s just me, though.

I could take it or leave it. If I''m REALLY turned on, it might feel pretty good, but otherwise it usually bugs me.

I always hear about those random women who can O from nerp-stimulation. I''m always amazed by that.

I''m 5''2" and when I was younger and weighed 125, I was a 34C. Now that I have put on quite a few pounds, I am up to a 36DD. I don''t really mind the size, as it is the only physical feature I have that I feel is "sexy," but I have never really liked their shape and they are definitely starting to droop. Plus, bra shopping is a nightmare.

So I would definitely consider a lift, but if I have kids, I want to breastfeed. Would that interfere? Or would breastfeeding undo the lift? Also, does anyone know how much a lift costs and how long you are out of commission?

El, I''m 5''4" and a size 8. I''m currently wearing a 36C, but probably should be in a 36D. I can go without one at home (wearing PJs for example), but I never leave the house without one on!!! Which sucks, because I keep seeing these really cute halter tops and/or tops with spaghetti straps that I would love to wear, but can''t because of the bra factor. However, I can wear tops like that if they have a "built-in bra" (like the bra tops from VS for example).

And Fleur, LOL at the octogenarian-boob-swinging SupaGranny comment!!! ROFL!!!

If I''m in the mood, then I love it. If not...then get away! LOL...that''s why I wear a bra until I get into bed, even though I put my pjs on right after work. Otherwise FI gets grabby.

I miss my 34Bs, I used to go braless in shirts all the time! Now I''m a 36C and it''s uncomfortable. Boo.

Im on the opposite end of the spectrum...

One of my girls is an A, and the other is likely a AA. I'm definitely not as even as I'd like to be
7.gif

I have thought about enhancement... Just to get up to a full B and even the gals out. Will I ever do it? Eh, probably not. That would be the last, last, last, last thing I would do after a laundry list of other things to get my body in tip-top shape. The implants would come after my washboard abs and cellulite-free booty... and I'm pretty sure those things aren't evah gonna happen.
3.gif

ETA/Funny story: My body is very similar to my moms... except I'm more "hippy" than she was/is... But we both have itty bitty chests. After she had my sister, she was trying to BF in the hospital... and the lactation specialist said, "You have the SMALLEST breasts of any pregnant or BFing woman I've ever seen!" (total word vomit) My mom, knowing this was probably true said, "You should see 'em when I'm not BFing! These look HUGE to me!" while my father just nodded in the background.

I''m hippy with a small chest too! I recently discovered that I''m really a 30A or a 32AA, and like all the women complaining in the big size thread, it''s not easy to find bras that fit really well.

Now I''m pregnant, which means all my As are fitting a lot better. Based on my mom and my sister I''m not expecting much more to happen in terms of growth. But my sister did compliment my cleavage the other day.
2.gif

I''m content with my girls. I can sleep on my stomach and don''t need much support to exercise. When I''m old they won''t be to my waist. Being pregnant is giving me a little feeling of what other women must experience -- pain without a bra, tightness when the bra is on -- and that''s enough for me! Not every guy is a "boob" guy, so the universe works itself out that way.

I''m in the 32AA faction, as well. Basically, I have to buy bras marketed to teens to find ones that fit. hilarious. But I''ve always been more than happy with my small chest. It definitely beats having to deal with the pain the better endowed ladies have to deal with. I feel for you ladies!

Ohh and on the genetic component, my mom is like a 36C. We do not have the same build whatsoever!

At my age I only worry about the bits everyone can see. Saving for the facelift, but I will probably spend it on jewelry. Besides, my husband has learned to live with disappointment.

This thread is really interesting!! I am 5''2" about 110-115 pounds and a 32DD and while I would say my breasts are on the "fuller" side, I have (thankfully) never had any back or neck pain because of them, have no problems buying clothes in my regular size (except for maybe shirts with buttons because they always gape between buttons! HATE THAT!).
So I know size is based on rib:breast measurements but I guess I never realized how big a difference one size can make!! Makes me wonder what will happen to me one day when I have babies!! If they did ever get out of control after I was finished having babies, I would consider a reduction but they would have to grow considerably because right now I don''t even consider myself to have HUGE boobs!!

P.S. I wonder what the differences in insurance coverage would be here in Canada. Would public health care cover this?

Ok I will chime in. I had a reduction 8 years ago 34 EE to 34 full C but I will have a further reduction in the next year. They have grown again not through putting on weight but through peri menopause and I will finally go down to a B cup once I am in menopause.
I a mcross that the surgeon ''talked me into being a full C as I wanted to be a B. All my friends that have had a reduction have had the same thing happen,
I think if you have a lot of breast tissue as the hormones change leading up to menopause the breast tissue becomes denser.
I have had for the last 30 years men speak to my chest and I am fed up with it and can WAIT for my perky little B''s
2.gif
.
Dh is dead against it but as I pointed out they belong to ME lol.
My scars are small and I had no loss of sensation. In fact my friend had it done and later breast fed 2 kids. Our surgeon was great but to preoccupied with big is better.

Good luck everybody thinking about it.

Reduction Sharon. When I had the first reduction all the perkiness issues were resolved and 10 years later there is still little sag but are back to being BIG but high.

smiles, our situations our quite similar. I''m 5''2", 110 lbs, and a 32F. I''ve never had issues with exercising or going about my day-to-day business but I do have some neck and upper back pain. Buying blouses is definitely a pain but double-stick tape works wonders!

In regards to insurance coverage in Canada, it is covered if you have a referral from you doctor, chiropractor, etc. The surgery must be performed in a hospital, i.e. you can''t just go to any plastic surgeon you want and have it covered.

I''ve been seriously considering a reduction for several years but many people have recommended that I wait until after I have babies so I can do a reduction/lift all-in-one. After hearing about the excruciating amount of pain people have gone through I''m definitely having second thoughts!!!

HI:

It is my understanding that you can choose your specialist. My GP always asks me who I want to go to--he makes the referral based on that, unless I have no knowledge of a certain specialty then he asks me if his suggestion is OK.

Hi all - I had a reduction when I was 18 and it was the BEST thing I ever did. I was bigger than a 32DD. Uncomfortable is the only word I can use to describe it - ugh! I went down to a 32C which has worked out perfectly for me. It''s been 7 years (jeez!) and I''m still perky. From what I understand, breast feeding may be an issue, but they left all of the milk ducts intact and only removed fat and extra breast tissue (which you cannot lose by losing weight!)

I was young and perhaps it was a bit easier to manage the surgery, but it wasn''t too bad. Major recovery was about 4 days, then I was up and trying to do one thing each day like the movies or out to lunch. No lifting, pushing, shoving, moving things for at least a few months - that was tougher, but it will hurt if you overextend so the pain keeps you from doing too much.

I think the worst part for me was the anesthesia! It literally lived in my body for a good month. At a moments notice I''d be tired, or thirsty, or sore, or get a headache. It affects everyone differently though.

With a couple of references from a breast specialists and chiropractor, insurance covered 85% of the surgery.

My best advice to anyone considering it - DON''T WAIT. I thought I''d wait until after I had kids and I am BEYOND thrilled I didn''t.

If anyone is from the NYC/NJ area - I know of a fantastic and dreamy gorgeous surgeon :)

That''s good to know. I was always told that the surgery needed to be done as an inpatient at a hospital (not by doctors but by friends). I''ll look up on it and see what I find.
