Here are some pictures of the pink spinel I received from Swala Gem Traders. It''s a 1.3 ct. spinel and measures 6.6 x 6.6. I can''t post the vendor picture for some reason. The stone is more hot pink in real life I think.

Oh thanks TL! Hmm, try as I might, it would not let me post it! The stone looks more red in their photo I think. I like the hot pink though.

Wow, that is such a beautiful shade of pink. Do you know what you are going to do with it?

I think that''s because the picture was a bmp file, and I had to convert it to a jpg file before I could upload. Glad to do it though. I like comparing vendor shots with owner shots. So what are you planning on doing with your new beauty?

Thanks D&T, and LtlFirecracker. TL, I thought I did convert it to a jpg. Apparently I did something wrong - lol. As to what I am going to do with it, it will be eventually be a ring but not until probably next year. I am finished with projects for this year I think.

Thanks SS. This is my first trillion shape. It''s fun to have something different.

Oh…a new foray into a different shape. Nice pink spinel. Isn’t Eric great to deal with? Trillion settings are very limited so I'll be keeping my eye out to see your plans for it.

Thanks Fly Girl, Linda W, marcyc, chrono, tourmaline lover, and stepcutnut. Yes, Eric is great to deal with. He always promptly answered my questions. I had to laugh though. The stone was sent in a plastic bag with a t-shirt included. I don''t know if the t-shirt was a decoy or just an added bonus. The stone was in cotton taped closed. I was glad the stone wasn''t damaged.

I was at an art show over the weekend and found an artist that I think I''d like to have make the ring for me. (next year though I think) The ring is really organic looking. The shank is brushed rose gold. Then it has 18K yellow gold leaves with the stone above the leaves and a tiny diamond below the leaves. I know I am not explaining this well at all. Too bad I don''t have a picture.

Sounds like the same way he sent my tsavorite. I had a scare though because mine was opened by customs and I could see the tape and all.

Fortunately, the stone was fine.

Well, that would be a bit concerning. Did you get the bonus t-shirt? (lol) UPS just left it on my front porch. I didn''t even have to sign for it.

If the stone was lost, would you be reimbursed by Eric?

Yes, I did. I knew about the shirt so I requested a size Medium. I heard some got an XL.

Gee, what''s with UPS! That''s terrible; what if someone walked away with the package!!!

I have no idea. I guess Eric would claim insurance from his insurer and reimburse me that way.

My spessartite ring from Richard Wise was sent FedEx. It was left inside my garage by my door into the house. I was home but they never knocked! I didn''t have to sign for that ring either!!!!!! That really blew my mind!

I think I would be tempted to pass on that info to Mr Wise. I would think that would make him feel very nervous indeed. I doubt it was the kind of service he (or you) paid for either.
