Pink Sapphire vs. Amethyst: Redundant?

This is an offshoot of my thread on which metal goes best with pink sapphire. I ordered the Cartier D’Amour earrings and pendant in rose gold with pink sapphires. They are exquisite, but now I’m wondering if they’re too similar to a bezel-set yellow gold amethyst pendant and yellow gold amethyst studs I have. What do you expert folks think? I can see myself wearing the larger amethysts with round-neck shirts and the smaller pink sapphires with v necks, but they do serve similar purposes. Thank you for your input!

Certainly the styles are similar... studs and solitaire pendants. But the stones look nothing alike. And the new sapphires are fabulous! IMO, there is room for both in your collection. But ultimately, that's your call!

Yes they are similar, but not interchangeable, if you know what I mean. I think they each have a different vibe. I could see the pink being worn in the spring/summer, and the amethyst in cooler seasons. The earrings in particular don't "feel" that similar to me at all. And the metal colors aren't exactly the same.

So, unless you need to sell/return or really want to streamline your jewelry box, I say keep both.

while a similar style they are completly different
keep both and make a point of wearing both
they are both lovely
also the rose gold vs yellow gold make them plenty different for me
