Pink Malaya from Finewatergems

It''s very pretty and nicely cut. Not able to take a good picture of this stone, unfortunately, the camera keeps putting dark shadows into it. Also the stone does not look the same in different lighting. Most of the time it''s pink, than it''s kind of a purplish color in bright sunlight, than sometimes it has a red glow. I think it''s confused at what it wants to be?? I wonder if it''s considered a shifter?? I''m looking at it now and it looks peachie. Maybe I''m confused.

Malaya garnets do colour shift but no one really calls them a colour shifting stone. They change from pink to orange and all shades in between depending upon the lighting.

ETA: Please don't take a picture of it hanging over a champagne glass as it's on the edge of a second story ledge. Ha!!

You know I''ve never been a huge fan of round cuts, but the more I look at these high domed crowns the more I fall in love. What are you going to do with it? I can really see it in a James/Caleb Meyer. I hope you get to set it soon and we get to see more pictures!
