Hello,

I want to celebrate the birth of my first child (girl) by getting a natural pink colour diamond.

My budget isn't big so would appreciate help the best place to buy one?

I was thinking either a some small stones that go all the way round, or

A small centre pink stone (0.15-0.30ct) with diamonds around. Given my roughy budget.

Thanks for the ideas and help.

What is your budget?

What's your budget?

If we know your budget range it would help a lot. Also if you could tell us what shade of pink you want, too. A fancy light and a fancy intense pink of the same size will have a Huge price difference. And are you ok with a modifier-brown, orange, etc. But to get you started check out Leibish's website and Diamonds by Lauren. Also, when you say small diamonds all around are you talking about an eternity band or a halo around another stone?

Depending on your budget you might consider a pink diamond eternity band or a pink sapphire
eternity band. Both would be lovely...if you have a boy in the future you could stack it with a blue
sapphire eternity or if you have another girl you might go with yellow stones...Just some options.

I know PSers have bought from this person and have been happy...I would double check to make
sure you are happy with the color first though.

There are other vendors on Etsy that work with pink stones.

Also, James Allen carries pink diamonds...

Congrats on the birth!!! How exciting.

Aboput a pink diamond- as pthers have said, budget is a huge factor. We have found that the presence of brown is sometimes not all that noticable visually, yet can really make affect the price ( making the stone cheaper)

Thanks all for your advice! Apologies slow responding, been done late nights in work.

Budget.....how long is a piece of string. But no seriously I wouldn't want to pay more than $5k all in. Stone and setting. I am from UK and £ taking a hammering, plus I expect I will need to cover vat 20% and import and duty on top.

I rather pink, although I've seen purple and pink which looks alright. So stone will be small I guess.

The faint pink probably won't be noticeably much pinker in real life. That's why it's faint. Many of the reports don't have clarity because on fancy color diamonds there is an option to get them to just grade the color - obviously with something like that one you can assume it would come back an I2 because of the very visible inclusion.

For a faint pink this looks good value? Or j am missing something.

Although you can't really see much pink hue in image. Can j expect more in real life.?
I would doubt it would look much more pink in person. I would probably steer away from a faint pink if you want it to look pink. I have seen some "very light pink" and "light pink" diamonds that look very pink when set in rose gold- so to keep within budget you might want to keep an eye out for one. If you want a more intense pink you will have to give up size and/or clarity.

Good question.

GIA offers two different grading reports for FCDs.
The full report tells you more, and the other is cheaper.

Diamond sellers may chose the cheaper report for cheaper FCDs or those with low clarity they'd rather not bring attention to.
I see that makes sense, so when it is bit the full report it could be due to low clarity (although it entirely)

About "Color Origin" reports: I too am always skeptical when a cutter hands me such a report.
What are they trying to hide? Generally, it's a clarity issue. But it could also be fluorescence, or deficiencies in cut.
But if the stone is below .10ct, GIA only offers the color only report ( I believe .10ct is the cutoff, not 100% sure)

I've decided to buy one of your pinkish diamonds

Plus another smaller diamond while I am there : )

I've contacted your team to make arrangement, but hopefully sending to UK is not a problem. Also I need help with the setting. I was thinking pave cross-over (similar to lebish) if they can do this.

Thanks for your help all! Will let you know child weight when she comes : )

I think cupping it in rose gold would enhance the pink a bit, but considering david works with color diamonds on a regular basis I'm sure he can steer you the best way to do it. I actually like the stone, I think the striations inside give it a very unique character! You can always make the shank white gold/platinum if thats her color preference.

I wasn't going to post this when I saw the size but I just read its a push present and you were looking at smaller stones anyways. Thought this might fit the bill too if for some reason the other one you picked doesn't work out.

Hi!
Belated apologies for late response. The diamond basically arrived on the day that my wife was giving birth, so had my hands quite full since then.

Anyway mms pronisied attached image.

I have to say David (Lauren's Diamonds) has done a fantastic job with the bespoke setting design. My wife and I love it, such great work! Beautiful meelee diamonds. Now only if my wife fingers de-swell a bit more the hospital and she can try it on :D

Ps it was a girl coming up in at 7lbs 11ounces, or 3.5kg who use the other metric system.

Congrats on your new baby girl(!!!) and your beautiful ring too!

congratulations vetenks! *le sigh* thank you for updating with pics of the setting, it turned out just beautiful, i love that the prongs are nearly invisible, it almost looks like the stone is floating in the swirls.

Beautiful ring! Congrats on your little girl!
