Hi Folks,
I attended the Los Angeles exhibition yesterday, and um, just...wow. I'm still speechless.

I got pictures of almost every piece on exhibition. What can I say? You only get one chance to photograph Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry!

Here are highlights from her incredible collection-in 3 parts.
Cheers!

Coati, thanks for the fantastic pics.
I'd love to go this weekend but don't quite feel up to the journey and the crowds. ;(

Oh, drooool!

Cant top this !

I'm curious to hear what your favorite pieces were and which ones surprised you the most to see in real life. How fun!

Thanks! :appl:

My favorite piece so far from the pictures is the Krupp diamond! Can't wait to see the rest!

La Peregrina is by far my favorite piece from her collection, and it exceeded my expectations in person! I have always wanted to see that pearl, and the Cartier necklace is just remarkable from all angles. The Taj Mahal, The Sapphire Sautoir, the rubies, emeralds, and the antique diamond pieces were incredible. The Krupp is astonishing, and I know many folks have seen that one live, but this was my first time. It is very hard to photograph that diamond. With the light shining directly on it, the camera is overwhelmed. I really wished they would've removed the glass case and blocked the light for a proper photograph! :cheeky:

I have many more pictures, so if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to post additional pics in this thread.

coatimundi thank you for these wonderful pictures!!! those emeralds...

Thank you so much for posting these.

I'm so sad the exhibition isn't coming to London - odd since she was British...

La Peregrina is definitely my favourite piece - but hard to choose out of so many lovely things! I wouldn't say no to the ruby ring either...

Wow! Those pieces are absolutely amazing, it was very interesting to see the photos, thanks for posting them :twirl:

The Krupp diamond is my favourite, it says it´s D in colour, does anyone know what the clarity is (just out if interest)?

Wow stunning jewelry

wow- stunning!

You did a great job with this! I just looked at part 3 and I'm stunned. I've seen the famous pieces many times but I think these are incredible too! Wow.

For Pandora-more of the 8.24ct ruby ring by Van Cleef. Photos are unretouched, and I think a good likeness to the in-person color. (albeit a hair pink-depending on the monitor) The 2nd photo is a bit blurry, but you can see the color. The stone is doing something interesting with the light in the first photo.

Sorry you missed it kenny, and I hope you are feeling ok! Take care.

Coatimundi,

Thank you for posting these pictures. They are excellent! Please keep them coming. It's wonderful to have as much as possible of Elizabeth Taylor's collection immortalized here.

Do you have a picture of the "Night of the Iguana" brooch?

My husband and I viewed Dame Elizabeth's Collection yesterday at Christie's NY and all I can say is that it was something not to be missed! It was definitely a once in a lifetime event. I am so very very happy that we went, even though it was freezing cold out yesterday. Thank you for these photos Ms. Coati. They didn't allow us to take any pictures here in NY.
