I'm new to the forum, but have been lurking and using the endless knowledge here for months. So thank you all for that!
My question is, is it UNcommon to request a picture of a custom ring you've had made before the jeweler ships it?
The jeweler I'm using has great reviews and everything has went very well until today. He sent me an E-mail (my preferred communication) this morning saying my ring would be ready next week. Great! I replied asking to see some pictures of the final product (I've only seen 3D CAD pics so far). He never replied, then around 4pm I get an E-mail from FedEx with tracking info for the ring! He shipped it.
I e-mailed him again about the pictures, to which he replied he didn't have time to take pictures before he shipped it. He shipped it today (July 24) and my dead line is Augst 5th.
I e-mailed him back saying I couldn't believe he would ship the ring without getting the customers final approval. He replied saying it's NOT common for customers to want to see a picture of the ring before its shipped. I guess I can understand for a setting from the website, but for a custom setting?
So have any of you had situations like this? Is this really typical practice?
Thanks in advance!
