Hi all,
Thanks again for everyone''s help on this forum. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, the ring is finally ready! For reference, https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/need-help-picking-a-diamond-asap.61628/.
I went with the 1.62 SuperbCert. RockDoc (rest in peace) was more than helpful, and his appraisal convinced me to go ahead and purchase the diamond. When I went to go pick the diamond up, I was amazed at how much it sparkled, and how clean and colorless it looked. I can''t wait to see the diamond set, and on my girlfriend''s finger! I went to Catherine Angiel directly after picking up the diamond, and was relieved that the setting I wanted looked as good, if not better, in person.
I had some questions. RockDoc was going to mail me all of the paperwork he had prepared after the diamond was actually set. Obviously, this will no longer happen. I feel like the appraisal has served its purpose, though, and the diamond and setting are already insured through Chubb without the papers, so the issue is moot, right? I do have numerous emails with pictures of most of what he would have sent me anyway. Also, I left the stone (against the recommendation of RockDoc) with the jeweler, who assured me not to worry about the diamond being swapped out or something similarly shady happening. What steps should I take to confirm this, just so I cover my bases? And is there anything I should be checking as far as the quality of the work?
I am really excited, and again, I would like to thank this forum and its members for the wealth of knowledge provided. There is no way I would have ended up with a diamond as nice had I done it without pricescope.
