I also voted for the all diamond look.....it's sooooo classic and beautiful, goes with everything, etc.
But I also have a suggestion: Have you considered having a sort of "surprise saphire" flush set on the underside of the band? This way you could have that very classic sparkly look, and still have the meaningful coordination with your own wedding band.
