sorry for the larg caps-- but I'm EXCITED!!!! I've been engaged for over a year, searching for that perfect sapphire for about two years (on and off of course, class kind of eats up my life) so its awesome to have it finally come into play in my life. I'm attributing it to positive thinking and perfect timing... its funny, when I started thinking "I desire the perfect sapphire to represent my engagement (within our budget) for my highest good and with great ease" and trusting that things happen for a reason, everything just fell into place. I e-mailed Jeff, after many failed attempts with other people, and he said he just might have something, and now, here we are! He was really wonderful to work with, a gem in his own right

I would not hesitate to work with him again.

ETA: its a 6.8mm round brilliant. 1.35ct

Just too beautiful for words…it’s just perfect for an e-ring. I can picture it in the Swan setting.

That''s a beautiful color-and it''s going to make a beautiful ring! Can''t wait to see it!!

Very pretty sapphire and some nice cutting on it. Congratulations!!

Kas, its absolutely beautiful!

That stone is going to make a standout engagement ring. Congratulations!

There is some "magic" in the cutting. It''s beautiful. Congrats for finally finding the perfect stone.

Oh that will look divine in a Swan! Other than Mark Morrell''s work, I think the Swan is my favorite setting that I''ve learned about through PS. Although Sweetpea had a blue and green ring that was eye popping droolworthy.

Are you going to name it something? The Blue Swan?

The re-cut gave the stone so much more life...it practically jumped off my computer monitor and blinded me!

What fabulous color, I bet that baby is going to sparkle like crazy :)

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I LOVE that stone. Did you provide the Sri Lankan stone to him, or did he already have it and just recut it? I ask because that is very much the color of sapphire I''m looking for and was wondering if Jeff might have some extra material...

more thank yous to: shertz1981, chrono, D&T, TravelingGal, packrat, tourmaline_lover, mr.ma re, akmiss, szh07, Cind11, oddoneout, litebrite, omieluv, stepcutnut, and astphard!!

astphard: my biggest suggestion to you would be to make a collage of the color/clarity/tone you are interested in, just to give the people you contact a better idea of the color you are interested. I''m not sure if Jeff has anymore like this, (he had the rough) but it doesn''t hurt to ask!

lol litebrite! I should name it, I believe it deserves one

if I do, I''ll probably stick with the swan theme since the mythology behind the swan is so beautiful and special to this piece of jewelry. maybe Odette (from Swan Lake), or maybe the sanskrit word for swan (since its a sri lankan gem)

any suggestions???

It''s a very beautiful sapphire!

that blue is breathe-taking!!

What a gorgeous blue!!!!!!
